this is in response to a lady, amakababe, that asked if she can still graduate with firstclass after a gpa of 0.2 after 100Level 1St semester. i decided to open a new topic on this because every student suppose to know this but most students dont know. now let me start.

If most students don't know this, why student's handbook(all written there). Is it that schools don't give handbooks again or students of these days are too lazy to read through? Besides, what's the essence of overwhelming orientation programmes in schools again? SMH

sorry for the delay. recall that the grades A'=5 B=4 C=3 D=2 F=0 and 1St class is 4.50-5.0, 2-1 is 3.50-4.49, 2-2 is 2.40-3.49 and 3Rd class is 2.00-2.40 Assume u r a new student of 100Level 1St semester offering 8courses out of which 6 are 2Units and 2 are 1UnitS each. then the total unit is 6*2+2*1=14Units

sorry for the delay, i have been busy since morning. now lets move on. assume the courses u offered with there grades are math101(2Units)=A MATH103(2Units)=A PHYS101(2Units)=A PHYS107(2Units)=D CHEM103(2Units)=B GENS101(2units)=B GENS103(1Unit)=A GENS107(1Unit)=F UR Total point is 5*2+5*2+5*2+2*2+4*2+5*1+0*1=47 therefore ur gpa for the semester is 47/14=3.36

its believed that a first studenj is exceptional or genius so he/she is expected to have alot of A"s to be pin that range

yes, very poss!ble. i graduated from elect engineering (similar to computer) and we had 5 firstclass graduates.

sorry for the delay in my response. i was busy during the week thats why i couldnt respond. let me start from where i stopped. assume ur second semester courses and grades are CHEM102(3Units)-A CHEM104(2Units)-B MATH102(2Units)-B MATH112(2Units)-D Then ur total units is 3+2+2+2=9 and ur total point is 3*5+2*4+2*4+2*2=35. therefore ur current gpa is 35/9 = 3.99

now the cummulative gpa after second semester is (47+35)/(14+9) = 82/23 = 3.54

so u will do this for every semester till u graduate. after knowing this, u just need to know ur strength and weakness in each course u r doing for u to set a target base on ur goal.
