For ardent movie lovers, this is big and great news. Omotola Jalade, alongside international film persons (actors, directors, casting directors, cinematographers etc.) have been invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts & Sciences (AMPAS), more popularly known as the Oscars.

Omotola was invited alongside other international actors like Daniel Kaluuya of "Get Out", Chloe Moretz of "Kick Ass" etc. Of course, she still needs to officially accept their membership invite officially but that goes without saying because this is a huge step not just for her but Nollywood as a whole. She gets to be sent screeners of movies in awards contention every year end and vote for nominees and eventual winners as well.
