My friend (Kene) got this job straight from China here and they've been undergoing trainings in Hebei Provence along with other graduating students from other countries.

Do you know the funny thing? They told them that they will be paid "according to the minimum wage in their home countries". Like WTF! angry

So the guys from Kaz for instance with the same degree and the same training will be earning 10dollars/per month. While the ones Nigeria (based on our 18k minimum wage) will get 10 times less angry

Well, they guy told me "at all at all, an em bad pass", so he has jejely packed his bag and heading home.

China has seen that our system is quite porus, we cannot help ourselves and they found a way to exploit Africans because of our evil leaders. See us shouting "good development" on this thread when they are massively ripping us off!

Hehe. Your guy ISSA mumu. They pay based on region but that's a wrong translation of it. There is no way your guy is not earning above 150k. Even KPMG n PWC pay based on region, but fresh grads there still earn 140k ish.

Not ready to dig into this, tell him to go back if he can.

agriculture, solid minerals, crude oil exploration...what's d difference. Its all extraction

We have been extracting oil from the Niger delta regions for over 40 years at the expense of environment problems in oil producing community coupled with mass poverty in Nigeria.

Now we have a vast under utilized land up north ( mostly in our northern states )

Is it not better we developed a modern mechanized Agriculture and animal husbandry system.

It will equip the northern states with money, provide jobs for job seekers and it will help to reduce the pressure in the niger delta.

IT IS LIKE THE WHOLE COUNTRY JUST DEPEND 100 PERCENT ON THE NIGER DELTA OIL AND BY THE TIME THE OIL FINISHES THE OIL PRODUCING COMMUNITY WILL SUFFER.

This oil producing community have no clean water, no bridge to their community, gas flaring around their community. fishing business has been affected by oil exploration.

Infact, their people live unhealthy lives because of emission from gas flaring in their community.

So the call for Agriculture is to reduce the pressure in the oil producing community as the northern states are just sitting idle and be waiting for money from the federal government.

Many of our northern governors refuse to develop a well funded agriculture in their states because they are very sure that they will get NIGER DELTA CRUDE OIL MONEY whether they work hard or not.

For fairness to be enthroned let each states develop their own resources and contribute to the centre.

There is no states in Nigeria that is not well endowed with resources.

The problem is because the federal government take over the resources of one region of the country and be sharing to other regions against the principles of fairness and equity.

The military that imposed unitary system on Nigeria ruled Nigeria for a long number of years sustaining this oppressive culture.

HENCE THE ONGOING CALL FOR RESTRUCTURING OF NIGERIA ON THE PRINCIPLE OF EQUITY, FAIRNESS, FISCAL FEDERALISM AND RESOURCE CONTROL.

WE ARE STILL GOING AROUND THE SAME CIRCLE PUTING EMPHASIS ON CRUDE OIL EXPLORATION.

Why neglecting oil producing communities in the Niger delta regions.

Is it not time we start investing in Agriculture?

Is it not time we start investing in Solid Mineral sector.

The federal government under the NNPC wasted cash resources searching for oil in the northern states untill they were frustrated by boko haram and other exigencies.

We failed to make efficient use of the crude oil money that the western countries ( British, Dutch, American, Italian, French etc ) was contracted to drill for Nigeria for a period spanning over 40 years.

Now we want to go the way of China to come and drill our crude oil for us.

Chinese are not as honest as the western countries and we should be very careful the way we do business with them.

But my take here is that we should focus on Agriculture.

A well developed Agriculture system will create employment to a large segment of Nigerians than crude oil exploration that will feed the pockets of a greedy few politicians in high places.

But how will a young man invest in agriculture that is capital intensive

Any Nigerian saying this is welcomed development is a fool...
.cannot discern development from exploitation. With our eyes shut...we open our mouths wide and shout welcomed development.... should we shut our mouths and open our eyes we will see we are being exploited and colonized by China...and it will be wayyy worse than the West did.
We have oil...producing oil...but not refining.... exporting it to be refined. China's three major oil companies specialize in offshore exploration and extraction....onshore exploration and extraction....and refining and marketing. Shouldn't we be interested in doing business with the refining and marketing company?

On quote above...bro...your eyes are open...and you are seeing. It is no coincident Chinese companies bring low level skilled workers....and even manual labourers...men to push wheelbarrows and whatever else. Let me ask you....do they return to China at the end of the project? Exploiting the natural resources is Plan A.... while long term Plan B is to resettle it's more than excess population and form colonies abroad....the reason why their exploitation is worse that that of the West. They are taking over...thanks to our corrupt leaders and their "welcomed development" supporters.

China says her investment in Nigeria is most strategic. I guess they are exploiting our system, using casual staff to run critical facilities. When U die, U will be flown to your people. Our stupid government and labour unions sit and do nothing.
