AutoReportNG: The route is not changing, where they will put the station is what will change. I guess road to the station is what would have caused the houses to be demolished. If you put the station in a virgin place you can plan the road and other things round the station 3 Likes |

Your name says it all- Crude, uncultured jungle thinking you got. The Lagos projects is financed by the World Bank. The development of the BRT scheme and the intra-city light rails were all conceived based on research and recommendation by the World Bank which also provided funding. I'm just informing you and not trying to convince you because an Ape will never understand. Tarzan360: 3 Likes |

tiredoflife:Oil money indeed. The project is being funded by both Nigeria and Chinese government. FG collected $30 billion dollar loan. Jonathief had the opportunity to transform Niger Delta, but he was busy embezzling with his cronies. Blame your son of the soil that blew your chances away. The good news is, the rail project would pass through all the states in Nigeria, but for now it is done phase by phase https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/01/fg-releases-n72bn-full-counterpart-funding-lagos-ibadan-rail/ 3 Likes 1 Share |

casualobserver1: No! The new site is on the same route of the rail project no unnecessary diversion or demolition of any pillar or already constructed slabs. They have just move the station 6km from the original planned position in Abeokuta, it's like moving a bus stop from your street junction to three streets after yours because there is a U-Turn, or Transformer or any structure that might be too difficult to remove by your junction, and decision to construct the station at a new location is very positive. it will save cost, since no compensation will paid because non of the 2000 buildings will be demolished , it will take development to the new site, value of properties around will increase, business will boom around, etc. The only ill will be that commuters will have to take an extra shuttle into Abeokuta city center. No additional loan from the Chinese, since no more building to be demolished, and this will free up a lot of monies budgeted for compensation. |

No need to crush any built or constructed pillar,, simply move the station to a less densely populated area along the same route n new economy will flourish automatically without additional cost to the project except logistical expenses simple. |
