This is the effect of many years of incompetent leaders. I am not surprised Buhari is also continuing the tradition of starving the education sector. |

dhabrite: When you're educated you tend to think outside the box and no right from wrong. Know your rights as a human being and dignity of humanity. You will be able to make a living on your own in most cases, in summary you really would be free. You will also know that your leaders work for you and you will question them, thier decisions and stand against oppressive policies. Remember that it was the educated Nigerians who fought for the freedom of Nigeria from thier colonial masters. Imagine if majority of Nigerians were really educated. We would fight for freedom from the oppressive elite. Do you now know why the educational system has been purposefully systematically degraded to paper awarding institutions ? |

Education system is Long dead in Nigeria since the days of IBB... Guess that's what lead to the present chaos interms of politics the country now found herself. Education is light that they said is at the end of the dark tunnel... Knowledge is the power to change the world to a better place... We lack both in this country.... All we care about is to make money for food, clothes, shelter and lavish spending...smh |

I feel sorry for parents who don't have the money to give their children quality education in this country. I went to a public school back then and we had good and committed teachers and good competition amongst the students. But the system is so bad now that only those who have no other option send their children to public schools. The free education is not quite free even in some states. I know of some places where the students still pay school fees to get highly substandard education. I hope every state government will take education seriously and save our future. |

The neglect of education by the govt has made basic education too costly. Funny enough, these politicians went to govt schools during their time. |

CodeTemplar:No mind them! Instead of holding their government accountable they will rather channel their frustration on private schools..you see why Nigeria is a messed up place? Misplaced priority and ignorance..the government with all the taxes and oil largesse can't give them quality education but they want private schools to do so at the same tuition rate with the government..awoof loving people..once they hear something is church owned, they will start foaming from every orifice in their body..make una no hold una government for quality education.. |

He said, “There is no short cut to quality education. But the truth is that, in Nigeria, government is longer in a position to provide quality education because of the increasing population and other competing needs. Education is not the only basic need of the people; pipe borne water, electricity, roads, housing and health facilities also need government attention. Its actually the problem with education they should solve first, because without good quality education, the other problems can't be solved. They better solve the problem with education, if they wish to create a population that would go on to solve the other problems of ''pipe borne water, electricity, roads, housing and health facilities.'' |

How is this news? . We invest less than 10% of our Gdp on our education . For a nation that makes so much money from oil and other resources , that is a big joke. Look at countries like Ghana,Botswana , Gabon etc . They spend a lot on this sector and the results are evident . |

people should stop depending on government for education, if you are naturally curious you will find the right kind of materials to consume to feed your mind. What I did in my own case was to buy a hard-drive of 500gb and I started going around collecting PDF files and books cutting across all subjects and disciplines. Because if I need to survive in this world I need to know how it works. So plz we are in the information age, we all have mobile device that are internet enabled, let's not wait for government. If you need help in improving your child in education, you can send me a message. |
