Honduras and Chile's World Cup preparations have been far from ideal ahead of their Group H opener today.

Both sides have concerns over their star players while Honduras go into the competition on the back of a wretched run of form.

Honduras have been forced to call up Jerry Palacios to their squad as a late replacement for Julio Cesar de Leon.

Palacios, who plays for Chinese club Hangzhou Greentown, joins brothers Wilson and Johnny in the Honduras squad.

It is the first time in World Cup history that three brothers have figured in the same tournament.

Honduras also have concerns over Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios and Inter Milan striker David Suazo, who have both been suffering from thigh injuries, and Rueda has been keen not to rush his star duo back too soon.

Palacios was able to play a full part in the team's final training session before flying east from Johannesburg to the Mpumalanga province and is expected to prove his fitness in time.
This will be Chile's eighth appearance in the finals having last qualified in 1998.

Victory would set either side up for a tussle with Switzerland for second place in Group H, with European champions Spain expected to progress as group winners.

this game will be too latin. It will be like one of those Copa Libertadores matches. I would have given Chile a win but having seen what New Zealand did yesterday, i will go for a draw. Honduras have some good players; Maynor Figueroa, Wilson Palacios, David Suazo, not so sure about his fitness, i think they can hold their own against a Chilean side that finished 2nd and a point behind Brazil in the South American qualifiers.

In my preview on this encounter I think Chile have got all it takes to win this games with the likes of Sanchez, Fernandez and Tello, but my interest is in the fitness of Humberto Suazo playing today because of injury but if he makes it then I see Chile scoring more than one goal because he is their main striker. In addition to that Chile have performed very well in their friendlies prior to this World Cup.

Honduras losing one of their major playmaker Leon in this tournament due to injury. And they are not all that good with putting the ball at the back of the net. They offer so little in terms of making it to the next round.
