Any laptop with those specs will set you back at least 200k in Nigeria (and that's for the lower end 9800 gt and Core Duo configuration). You'll NEVER get a quad core with a 5850 for under $1300.

There are no shipping notebooks with the Geforce GTX 470 at the moment. And you can bet your butt they'll cost a whole lot more than 200k

All that comes to mind is Dell xps studio. It should cost 175k, and you can game till you drop. Dont go for a quad core, not the best for gaming. Or you could just go for normal del xps, for about 120-150, depending on specs.

Why don't you restrict yourself to speaking about things you understand. Claiming a quad core CPU isn't good for gaming makes you look like a fool, to be honest.

When you consider the difference it will give versus the price the guy's looking at, then you know it aint. Especially because you can get a good core2duo thats 3.something Ghz at a lower price than a comparable quad. Moreover, a core2duo will do just fine. You really dont need a faster processor, what he should be looking at is better graphics card capability. Moreover, the overclockin deficiencies of a quad is a negative and what do you need a processor that's going to be that hot for, especially if you game constantly and the heat is an issue. I'm not a pro on this, but i wont go as low is pullin a punch back,

By the way, i saw a del inspiron1564 at del shop in computer village for 125k considering the budget, and you know the processor is the more advanced intel core i3.

We aren't in the middle ages, you dolt. When we say 'quad' now, we're referring to the quad core i7 processors intel is shipping these days. And those, even when clocked low, can employ Intel's Turbo Boost technology to overclock themselves to 2.8 - 3.2 Ghz, depending on the particular i7 processor. a 1.6 Ghz Core i7 processor absolutely slays a 2.4Ghz dual core i5 processor in benchmarks.

To further prove how much of a numbskull you are, you post a link to a 2008 article on Tomshardware. 2008?! And to make matters worse, in your haste to post anything to prove your point, you failed to notice that
1. The processors being compared were desktop processors
2. the quad core processor being used as a comparison piece was from AMD, not intel.

Sorry, e no dey try too much. A geforce 310M is a low end graphics card. You'll be able to play most games, but at low or medium settings at best with much of the advanced effects turned down.

You spent way too much on that laptop.

so optimized for the quad cores, so in real life situations, a core2duo T9600, T9800 and T9900

would do just fine except if one intends to play games like GTA 4 or Direct X11 game (forgotten the name).

There is no doubt though that the i7 quads are the future of gaming, looking to upgrade myself,

when it comes to gaming more is always better, unless you like low res low particles, no shadows no motion blur, no bloom . . .

You're digging deeper when you're in a hole. What's the sense in an Apples-to-oranges comparison? Why compare AMD and Intel chipsets with different IPCs, different features etc? What generation are you comparing against?

Try to stick to the topic instead of dissembling. a Quad core i7 is better than a dual core i5 for gaming, and the delta is even more prominent in games where the CPU is more likely to be the bottleneck than the GPU
