TundeBricklayer:

Mind you many Igbos claim many states they are residence as state of Origin especially Lagos
If you can recall when public schools admissions treaded here sometimes ago many Igbos claimed many states outside southeast and south south as states of origin, many Igbos claim Lagos as state of Origin.

Just like below report that show Igbos that represented states including Lagos state at NNPC national quiz

breakdown of participants at the zonal level were – South-South Zone, Alikah Joseph Ehiagwina of Edo came top with 65 points, Ebute Samuel Adakole of Rivers came second with 55 points, while Ohwevwo Oghenetejiri of Delta came third with 50 points. In the South-West Zone, Ezeunala Ekene Franklin of Lagos State, Igban Emmanuel of Ogun and Owoseeni Oreoluwa Olanlesi of Osun State, tied with 55 points each. The South-East Zone, Okeke Tony Kabilan of Enugu State came top with 65 points, Imo contestant, Okeke Ezinne Elizabeth, came second with 55 points and Uzondu Chigozirim Emmanuel of Abia scored 45 points. At the close of the competition for the North-Central Zone, held in Ilorin, Kwara, Okeke Favour of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) scored 65, Ezemba Confidence of Plateau also had 65, while Agada Vincent of Benue scored 75. Kwara and Kogi states, represented by Femi Olufisayo and Ibrahim Wisdom respectively, equally tied to take 4th position with 50 points each, with Niger and Nasarawa states, represented by Olamilekan Oladapo and Ajogwu Benjamin, making the sixth and 7th positions with 35 and 20 points respectively. In the North-West zonal competition, Kaduna State representative, Chijioke Mgbeobukwa, won the contest with 55 points, beating other contestants from Kebbi and Sokoto States who emerged 2nd and 3rd positions with 45 and 40 points respectively. At the end of a keenly contested event for the North East Zone held in Bauchi, Bauchi State representative emerged winner with 50 points while Gombe and Taraba tied with 45 points apiece. Adamawa scored 40 points while Borno and Yobe ended with 25 and 20 points respectively.

Igbos represented their schools not claimed to be indigenes of Lagos. Is it not funny and weird to hear that Okudili or Uche is an indigene of Lagos state.. grin

Well..you tried but these are the ones that are neutral and totally merit based. No Nigerian factor....

Yesterday, the U.S. Embassy recognized over 100 young Nigerians selected to participate in the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship. The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and a key component of President Barack Obama’s commitment to invest in the future of Africa. The White House developed this initiative in recognition of the critical and increasing role that young Africans are playing in strengthening democratic institutions, spurring economic growth, and enhancing peace and security in Africa.

Speaking at a special gathering in Abuja, U.S. Ambassador James F. Entwistle congratulated the new fellows on their competitive selection amongst 10,000 Nigerian applicants and tens of thousands of others throughout Africa.

Ambassador Entwistle congratulates the Nigerian cohort of the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship.
Ambassador Entwistle congratulates the Nigerian cohort of the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship.

“Our goal was to select a diverse group, both geographically and socio-economically, representing all Nigeria has to offer,” said Ambassador Entwistle. “You represent the best of Nigeria’s youth and the future of the country. Your selection says a lot about who you are as young leaders and the level of impact you are having on your communities as entrepreneurs, civic leaders, public servants, and champions of renewable energy,” he added.

On the list were over 90 outstanding young Nigerians including former beauty queen/MBGN 2000 Dr. Matilda Kerry, she has worked consistently to improve the lives of underprivileged children via the George Kerry Life Foundation; Adebola Williams, co-founder of Red Media who has set an indelible standard in the world of media and PR via the Future Awards, YNaija and more; Otto Orondaam who founded Slum2School which is now one of the largest volunteer driven non-profits in Nigeria.

Congrats to everyone selected!

Since 2014, 86 Nigerians have participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship. Fellows participate in an intensive, six-week program on academic excellence and leadership focused on business and entrepreneurship, civic leadership, public management, and renewable energy at U.S. colleges and universities.

I believe this fake news was debunked a number of times, but I see it still gets peddled:
https://www.pulse.ng/communities/student/jamb-only-7-candidates-arrested-at-exam-centres-in-anambra-id6724844.html

Common sense could have told anyone it's impossible to "catch" 10,000 students cheating in an exam.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/anambra-close-486-centres-exam-magic/

But it was proven as fake news. The "486 miracle centers" nonsense is more fake news. There aren't even that many JAMB centres in Anambra, talk more of 486 "miracle centers". If you were more focused on facts than point scoring, silly claims like 10,000 people being caught cheating in Anambra and almost 500 centres being shut wouldn't sound plausible to you.

Secondly, I was raised in Lagos and lived my whole life in Lagos. I wrote my JAMB is Isasi, close to Okokomaiko, and in my JAMB hall, I couldn't count 5 people that were not cheating. I taught in a public Senior Secondary School in Lagos too during my NYSC and the principal of my school (a Yoruba lady of course) sought to bribe me while appealing that I should assist or permit students to cheat during their WAEC. I did allow them cheat (she paid off the WAEC supervisors too), not because she bribed me, but because I didn't really care or consider it my business (imagine me, an ordinary corper, trying to challenge a principal with no integrity). Whether it is Lagos or Ekiti or Osun or Abia or Bayelsa or wherever, Nigerians cheat a lot and have a very skewed notion of integrity and majority of Nigerians secondary school students cheat during their exams, given half the chance. You that is here posting links have most likely cheated a lot in exams in your lifetime. We all know how things are done in this shiithole, but continue deluding yourself.
