While we all know that regularly eating at night could lead to weight gain and that is especially true when it comes to snacks that contain refined carbohydrates and starches such as bread, rice, potato chips, and pretzels—which are low in fiber and high in sugar.
While these snacks may seem like a quick fix snack, failing to use the converted energy can cause problems as those calories will be stored as fat, instead which will be problematic for your waistline.
However, health experts believe it is best not to go to bed hungry, either and when your tummy starts rumbling after you go to bed, you’re probably better off reaching for a low carbohydrate but high-protein snack.
If you are feeling hungry, you have a good choice to snack on in mozzarella string cheese sticks. This snack has fewer than 100 calories per pop, which is quite heavy, given the fact that it packs a lot of punch.
This snack provides a whopping six grams of protein with just one gram of carbohydrates, as well as extra nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. More so, you have no reason to worry about eating too much, due to the fact that it comes in prepackaged portions.
If you are lactose-intolerant folks or you are on of those that just doesn’t like dairy products and derivatives, a small handful of nuts like almonds and walnuts will do the trick, too.
While both types of nuts are high in fat and calories, they are also filled with plenty of protein, vitamin E, selenium, magnesium, and other healthy nutrients.
It is however important that you remember that when it comes to nuts, a little can go a long way. Enjoy your snacks without the fear of getting fat!
