The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Daniel Iworiso-Markson welcomes the NDHS crew to the Information House and appreciates the effort of the organization for providing demographic data for the nation. In his remarks, he states why it is important to care about the population of Bayelsa state and that the reverse will be a disaster. He further noted saying, a planned family is a healthy family.

Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo the leader of the team and the Federal Commissioner National Population Commission, explains that the program will be carried out in all the local government areas of the state and will include a random selection of households in the local governments. She further stated the survey will include men aged 15-59 years, women aged 15-49 years and children from 0-71 months. Izonfuo says, blood samples will also be taken for health records.

Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu, the Commissioner for Health, also remarked that the essence of the press briefing is to create a platform for all parties involved in the exercise to ask questions in areas where they may need clarification regarding the survey.
