You didnt state reason why you are getting either...., FYI
They both eat alot.
They both need lots of love and care.
They both are medium breed dogs although some would say large breed.
They are both loyal when well socialized and trained.

Get a Rottweiler, they are more vigilant and territorial. I have heard a few people complain about their beorbel not being active enough but never have I heard such complaints about Rottweiler.
Get a Rottweiler! You can't go wrong with it.

Gsds are overrated. I just happen to be lucky to have a vicious vigilant territorial gsd but I have seen alot of gsds that are inactive and too playful.

They are damn too playful, so annoying. Vicious but still damn playful.

Which kind vicious? They only turnout vicious by luck. I have seen many inactive gsds that plays with everybody it sees, even if they don't know you.

I think you are making the right decision. I have a daughter that turned 5 today. She handles my 10month BB although I always train my dogs so yeah if properly trained i don't think your daughter and dog shouldnt get along.

As for GSD I have a slant gsd that is very very playful and it kills me inside watching her play with total strangers. She has just whelp and immediately I sell off the pups I am letting her go... so yeah I think BB is fine. Rott might be good if you are alone but not too good especially with kids. They [Rott] can be too jealous if not properly trained and socialisedo which could backfire.

If it's companionship and security a Boerboel wins all the way especially because of your daughter ,Rottweilers can be very aggressive and may hurt their owners knowingly or unknowingly
