AcuraZDX:
Tanzania's President John Magufuli has called on women to stop taking birth control pills, saying the country needs more people.
"Women can now give up contraceptive methods," Magufuli said.

The opposition however criticised the comments, saying they contradicted the country's health policy. Tanzania has a population of around 53 million people, with 49% of them living on less than $2 (£1.50) a day. On average, a woman in Tanzania has more than five children, among the highest rates in the world.

The President made his comments at a rally on Sunday in the northern Meatu district, saying people who use family planning methods were lazy.

"They do not want to work hard to feed a large family. And that is why they opt for births controls and end up with one or two children only. I have travelled to Europe and elsewhere and have seen the harmful effects of birth control. Some countries are now facing declining population growth" he said.

So why does he think Tanzania needs more people? He is not an Abe.

Mr. President,

I hope you have iron clad plans for population growth. In fact, can you convince us that the current population is well catered for and the resources available sufficient to sustain your population with excess for the proposed additional growth?

Do you have mother friendly policies for working mothers?

Do you have affordable daycares?

If you want the mothers to say at home, what structure do you have in place to ensure that their husbands are well paid to cater for the home?

What measures do you have in place to ensure that the husbands do not maltreat their wives as they will be financially dependent on them?

Is your educational system, healthcare, housing, feeding etc. equipped to cater for the current population and proposed addition?

Oga, no bi by mouth to scream more population.

You put your money where your mouth is.

And to know that this man has a doctoral degree or at least was awarded one honorarily sends shivers down my spine.
It's still backward African countries like Nigeria and now Tanzania that see large population as something to be proud of.

What's the pride in being the most populous Black nation on earth with poverty and hunger? None. There's no prize for such - if only there were, I'd be happy seeing that Nigeria takes such prize money every month or year. grin

I tell you

Common sense is very far from many Africans

But there is one stat that caught my eye

49% live on less than $2

while in Nigeria it's between 65-75%

Dayum shocked

who told you the "one child policy" failed? ?

What you don't know don't say

The one child policy has achieved its aim, and further implementation of it will cause a demographic shift that won't be too favourable.

But the concept of having planned families have been inculcated in the Chinese over the decades due to that policy

So they are good to go

Too much of everything is bad

Excess children is bad

Too little kids is also had

so what we need is a balance.

Nigeria is sliding into the abyss partly because of our rapid population growth

So we need a balance...
A balance that will never come, a balance US attain through immigration, a balance that Japan cry everyday for as its economy continue to shrink, A balance China thought could be achieved by force as its demography of ageing population spell doom for its economy. For your information paying people to produce babies AKA baby factory in now allowed in China.
Think again Spain appointed minister for sex or whatever to encourage what the Tanzanian president is hammering on. So the future begin today.

Nigeria'a population is growing rapidly and suffering growing with it.

ALL countries with very high birth rates in the world are either grappling with poverty, instability or even both in some cases (middle east)

Having a receding population will make your economy contract, but at least the standard of living will still ge high

Having rapid growth gives room for terrorists, miscreants and environmental disasters.

The choice is ours
