If the information making the rounds in the entertainment clan is anything to go by, Bayelsa born Dance Hall artistle, Timaya and the yori-yori crooners Bracket failed their United States of America (USA) audience when they could not perform with a live band before the expectant audience.

It was gathered that very unlike the garbage in garbage out, the Nigerian artistes feed their, audiences at home. The foreign audience they were billed to perform in America insisted that Timaya and Bracket perform with live bands, but these guys could not blend, hence they were shown the way out of the stage.

Our source noted that this show of shame is a big lesson for our local artistes who are used to cutting corners to stardom, stressing that the ‘Egberi Papa’ got messed up in far away America because he could not take up the challenge that would have shown that he is a good musician, and wondered why an artiste who can not flow will be celebrated.

The source further stressed that it is quite unfortunate that both musicians could not play any instrument, adding that as a performing artiste, you cannot sustain your stay on stage with a live band, you can only try complete acts and they cannot make an impact without rehearsals and stuffs like that, so they take their jobs seriously and excel naturally.

The story also has it that what happened to the musicians is a proof to what the masked one, Lagbaja Omo Baba Muko Muko sang sometime ago that “any child who rejects home training will get it outside of the home, but in a hard way.”

serves them right. do they think they can try the rubbish they do on naija stage in america? American audiences don't take it lightly with lip-syncing, they've showed it to 2face before. hope timaya won't blame this on his uncountable enemies sha.

live performance??
lie, lie.that kind thing no dey reign again.
dem don finish to shout "DJ, track 5".
sometimes you wonder what these guys have?
most of them have crap lyrics, horrible voices, no stage presence and can't play one instrument to save their lives.
Most Nigerian artistes na for club my relationship with them end.
You need a few bottles to appreciate them.
Once your eye clear, you find proper music.
There are few exceptions anyway.

as if they can perform live to an audience to save their lives.
you can count on one hand the Nigerian artistes that can perform live.
meanwhile the hip hop heads they are copying are doing it live to diverse audiences.
check out Snoop at Glastonbury weeks back and Jayz was there last year.
Which of these hip hop fakes can hold a mic at such venues, if given a chance?
Na only to copy autotune and non existent swagger them sabi.

Any artiste wil perform wiv a band abeg. . .jst get a band that gives them the instrumentals of there songs. . .
The disadvantage is dat most of dem really dnt av fab voices!

@tosinaded@

Thank you, you are well informed. A lot of all these so called artiste cannot afford to rehearse with live band. Some get paid as little as 100K for some shows. Please remenber to use a live band you have to pay the instumentalist, rent equipments and studio.

Na where dem go get the money, not even now that shows are drying up in Nigeria.

Also, the show promoters should have got them into town weeks before the event so that they would have rehearsed with the band.

Bracket used live band at the indigo 02 on the 31st of May, though it was very boring and did not make sense, i can only blame the promoter for not bringing them in earlier,
Re: How Timaya, Bracket Failed Us Audience by Nobody: 10:23am On Jul 08, 2010
^^^^^

the show promoters must have assumed that these 'superstars' were professionals, not some glorified local champion amateurs

like so many other things, timaya and co are just another tribute to our culture of celbrating mediocrity

one would also have expected timaya to research and confirm what is expected of him

is he so unaware of what is going on in the industry over ther? did he not hear of the ashley simpson lip synching on saturday night live embarrassment

does he not watch clips of live performances by artistes, mtv unplugged etal , chronic tour, etal ?
Re: How Timaya, Bracket Failed Us Audience by bisiaet: 11:39am On Jul 08, 2010
This flaws may be the fact that the organiser did not tell them before hand what to expect or possibly these guys manager did not do a good homework to really find out from the organiser of the show what is expected of them on stage so that they both can get prepare well.

As per not be able to play a single instrument I think our guys need to work on that seriously I think one of the renowned old musician in Nigeria lamented this some time ago but he was snubbed I think as a good musician you sholud try as much as you can to at least be able to play a instrument at least one.
