I'm so proud of SOUTH AFRICA, the organization from the beginning of the tournament to the end was unprecedented. the world cup experience was indeed 'A ONCE IN A LIFETIME'. I'm really happy that there wasn't any news of violence and crime as widely believed by the foreign media before the tournament.

DIVA AFRICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

even those in government and their media are xenophobic.
there is no hope in hell for them to stop.
They are busy blaming foreigners while there house is on fire.
Zuma and Malema are leading that country on a highway to hell.

I think Africa as whole played its part, all Africans where behind us,without this ambassodors, your Amokachi's,Okocha's,Roger Milla's Abedi Pele's,Kalusha Byalwa's,Goerge Weah's and many other African greats this would have not been this succesfull.

I was proven right once again by the love and support South Africans have on other Africans when we wore the coloures and flags of Nigeria,Ghana,Cameroon,Ivory Coast and Algeria.I was flying two flags on my car the whole month,South Africa and Ghana, and other South Africans have other African countries flag flying in their cars.

I am left speechless by what we did as a country and the continents and still get goosebumps whenever I think about it,this indeed was a special moment in our history as Africans, and now that we know that we've got what it take i think we should applied this lessons to our daily lifes and take our rightful place in the world.

Perception within us and to the out sider has indeed changed.Thank God I am African.

Big ups to SA,

The have broken the ginx.

What the rest of the world think we can't do, we have done and even done it better
Re: Drop A Congratulatory Message For South Africa! by SALady(f): 1:02pm On Jul 12, 2010
I bow down to my fellow SA countrymen. I believe this continent needs more of these kind of tournaments to break the cycle of xenophobia and the rest. However the xenophobia issues is deep rooted in issues of poverty and people talk about it as if it is the only thing that happens in SA alone. Ask a Congolese man who has stayed in Zimbabwe and how unwelcoming the environment is. The Congolese people still struggle for acceptance in Zambia.

Egyptians who would rather be associated with Europe and would practically do anything to avoid sharing identity with black Africa.

Xenophibia still happens in our backyards you just have to check the pages of this forum and you will understand what am I talking about ask the Igbo's, the Yaruba's and the Housa's. This reeks xenophobia. South African's even in this day and age still battle with issues of acceptance of nationalities among each other ask the Xhosa's, Zulu's and Tswana's

The issue of xenophobia is not as superficial as it may seem and should therefore be treated as such, otherwise be taken to the politics section. Each African country battles with it, so can we sharrrap a bit about Xenophobia and say big up's to SA for being the best host unders the circumstances and when it was least expected of them.

Foreigners seek refuge with W.Cape police
Jul 12, 2010 10:39 AM | By Sapa
Scores of foreigners have taken refuge at Western Cape police stations following looting and burning of township shops owned by foreigners.

Spokeswoman for provincial disaster management Daniella Ebenezer said that 70 foreigners had sought refuge overnight at Mbekweni police station in Paarl and 22 at Wellington.

There were smaller numbers at police stations in Franschhoek, and Langa and Harare on the Cape Flats.

They had gone to the stations “mainly because they were fearful”, but in some instances following attacks on shops.

Ebenezer said there were “sporadic” attacks on shops on Saturday in the region, and “some incidents of looting” on Sunday.

No-one had been seriously injured.

She said that according to police, on Sunday spaza shops and containers also used as shops were “damaged” in Mbekweni, Paarl East, Wellington and Nyanga.

The province and municipalities were ready with contingency plans, she said.

Die Burger newspaper reported on Monday that shortly before midnight on Sunday, police advised foreigners, mainly Somalis, to leave the Cape Flats township of Nyanga, and escorted numbers of them out of the area.

The newspaper carried a photograph of Somali spaza shops in flames in Philippi, also on the Cape Flats.

I surely know that is better described as tribalism and not xenophobia, just saying though.

To all South Africans

You have done the continent proud. I never doubted the ability one bit and have always recognized the potential of the nation.

Good luck in all your future endeavours and do not turn the route of your fellow brothers and sisters in Africa. Continue to bask in positive enegry and scold those who are willing to bring negativity.

VIVA SOUTH AFRICA!

LONG LIVE THE PEOPLES OF AFRICA!!!!

VIVA SOUTH AFRICA!
LONG LIVE THE PEOPLES OF AFRICA!!!!

This is what motivate most of us,to search for sites like this.We do this because we want to understand our fellow brothers, and we also come here to be understood and be inspired. And when you Morph say what you just say I know that I made the right decision by being part of this forum.Yes as Africans we have challenges but it is time now that we focus our ernegy on the positve things we do and can do.Negative things will only cause tensions and hatred, that is why there are xenophobic violences in SA,tribal killings in Rwanda, religious killing in Nigeria.

If you where in South Africa for the past 30 days you'll have notice that we where not doing this for ourself but for the continent,we trying to break the stereotyping of Africnas not South Africans only.
South Africans love this continent and would like to see it and its people respected.I am not xenophobic,I have no fear of foreigners and none of my friends or family members are.
