WHAT IS TRUTH?
(John 18:38- "Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?..."

'What is truth?', asked Pilate.
Whether of mockery or of sincerity,
None can tell with certainty.
But this, only the rational can relate.

Like Nicodemus notable question, (John 3:4)
This calls for examination and exposition.
With all sincerity, what is truth?

To Thomas, Jesus had answered,
Beyond the Way and the life,
I am the truth!

Yes, Jesus is the truth.
None in Church can this refute.
But wait! What is truth?

Answer from an unindoctrinated mind.
Like that of the new born baby.
And that of the unread, unchurched man
Without the Bible and the Church's Creed,
What is Truth?

Look!
The Muslim thinks his Quran's never wrong
And the Christian says his Bible's always right.
And then Hinduism, Buddhism and the rest
What shall I say of Eckankar, Rosicrucianism,
Grail movement, Christian Science, Mormonism.
Everyone claiming to have the truth!

Leaving other religions,
Focus on the religion of birth.
Note the differences and the sectarianism.

For me, Christianity.
I am bemused with denominationalism.
Anglican, Adventists, Baptists, Catholic,
Evangelicals, Protestants, Pentecostals,
And the Witnesses.

You see Pilate's puzzling philosophical inquiry,
Had a search for truth inspire!
Be not blind to religion's creed and dogma
Please, pause and ponder: what is truth?
