Nigerians have revealed their surprise following the obituary poster of a man who is said to have died at the age of 170 (1848 - 2018).

The deceased identified as Pa Monday Agwalogu from Osisioma Ngwa local government area of Abia state, passed away in May 2018 after a brief sickness.

The man who is believed to be the oldest in his village before his death, is to be buried next week Thursday and Friday (November 15th and 16th) in his community.

Nigerian internet users have been wondering how possible this is - with some asking whether the family did the right calculation with the old man's age.

The oldest person ever whose age has been verified is Jeanne Calment (1875–1997) of France, who died at the age of 122 years, 164 days.

Who is the person who arrived at the conclusion of that age? I mean was he there when he was born?

What is so difficult in coming out to say they don't know his DOB. undecided

That man I see in the picture above was no way close to that age. people don't know what it means to be 170 years old as a human, not tortoise or shark, on the surface of this planet.

People just quote age for their elders since no one knows when they were born and birth certificate was a rare thing in those days. 170 years old would have looked totally disfigured far from a look of a normal human being. Even scientists have proven it is almost impossible for someone to live up to 140. Because there is a limit to how much long our body can keep together to sustain life.
