$2.3 billion, wey some Nigerian politicians and civil servants go share among each other grin

By the time the people of Morocco start traveling in that train, they will pray for their King, politicians and country.
I do feel like crying whenever I pass through itokin road, when am traveling from ikorodu to ijebu Igbo, the road is just so dam terrible and I will start cursing the Federal government, Lagos state government and the Ogun state government

Countries that are functioning well don't know how lucky they are.

the 6 geopolitical regions should have trains operating in them, but with the sort of greedy useless politicians we have, it's not gonna be possible.

Just imagine a very rich state like Lagos, that has been constructing a light rail project for more than 10 years, I wish there is an alternative to APC in Lagos state.

In Nigeria those who will share the money amongst selves will pray for one another and their respective friends, relatives and well wishes will do same. grin grin

The money used to subsidize petrol can build that railway yet evil people will say Nigeria is a poor country.

The cost of this project $2.3 billion shows that projects in Nigeria are grossly over inflated by our leaders who are nothing but greedy bastards.

So as big (for nothing other than corruption) as Africa is, this will be the first speed train? Congrats to Morocco, while shame on Nigeria.

You were really making sense until you got to the part in bold. Guess you missed this part of the story...

51 percent of the $2.3 billion was financed by France, Morocco 28 percent and the remaining 21 percent was provided by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

I totally agree with you. Citizens of those countries should always thank God for putting them there. Being a Nigerian is a big disadvantage on it's own so i don't blame those that wants to leave this sh!thole by all means.

You don't understand, I'm sure that $2.3bn must have included all the kickbacks needed for that contract to sail through. I bet you if this same contract were to be executed in Nigeria, don't be surprised if it costs $50bn or more. That is Nigeria for you, our leaders have a different appetite when it comes to corruption and enriching themselves.

Bigframe:
If this project can cost just $2.3billion and politicians can share almost that amount for election purpose, then we have big problem in our hands.

Nigeria when are we gonna experience this

dereborn:
This is wat we shud be seeing in Nigeria..... Not dat shiiit our government are planning to giv us

Must it be about Nigeria all the time ...
Nigerians are barely feeding, and all you think is to envy people who have gone past the state of a starving population...
This mentality has driven Nigeria to where it is now. We always try to compete with people who have the mental intellect, structural government and people who are civil...
Nigerians can't handle such development so stop the dreams... Take a look at BRT in Lagos ... The buses are little more than molue... From start they planned on using prepaid cards for these buses but go check them now the consoles have been ripped off.. my point is we those have population that understands development... It's better Nigeria starts from agricultural age... * If mere canals, Nigerians can't make clean imagine if we had a sewer system ... Epidemic is sure to follow like the great plague in England.

Nigerian outdated "new" trains were bought as scraps and painted as new, instead of actually buying new trains!

Nigeria is massively raped everyday financially by thieves in both Parties!!
