Destroying the Bridge after using it.. Exemplified by the Pro-chancellors and the Nigerian Political Class... Uzoma Osuala.

The people who constitute Federal Government-ASUU negotiation team are Buhari's generation. They enjoyed free and quality education in Nigeria. A greater number of them are Professors, former Vice Chancellors and presently Pro-Chancellors. They knew how much others nations of the globe invest so much in education, yet they have not deemed it necessary to advice the Federal Government on the necessity to properly fund education. So, one keep wondering the educational sagacity of their professorship. Given their stand on how education should be handled, it then means that their is ideological and subtle policy by the political class/elites in connivance with opportunists' bureaucrats to ensure that the wards/children of the average Nigeria do not get education in Nigeria. In fact, call it mental slavery to illiteracy. In other words, without proper education, one remains mentally blind and serves the interest of these opportunists and their children. Just the way the public primary and secondary schools are nothing to boast of, the same subtle political toxins in policies are being injected to public universities ' education
So, Nigerians need to see the on-going strike action by ASUU as struggle to force the government to properly fund education. It is time to fight mental slavery and slaughtering of public university education. NLC has been fooled to call off the intended strike and government is not planning to pay the #30,000 naira minimum wage. It shows how government and most politicians in Nigeria do not care about the welfare and well-being of average Nigerians. If #800 hundred billion could be used as bal out for Skye Bank (now Polaris) without bringing to justice those who led to it collapse, I see no reason why Nigerian Government cannot inject 1.1trillion naira to the entire university education in Nigeria. South Africa's budget for education annually is about 8 trillion naira.

Say no to Government policy toward education in Nigeria.
Fight for the soul of Nigeria public universities.
ASUU is not the problem, irresponsible government is.
Stand up for the right to education in Nigeria.
Solidarity forever.
