A community volunteer is any person who is engaged by an organization, usually at a community-based level, by a community-based organization or non-governmental organization who majors on health projects. A Community volunteer is responsible for community mobilization of orphans and vulnerable children, caregivers and community improvement team (CIT) for timely/monthly club activity within a particular community. A community volunteer is also saddled with the responsibility of conducting frequent monthly/quarterly home visits to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and also caregivers in their respective homes within the community. A community volunteer also conducts referrals to health facilities and service providers for vulnerable children and vulnerable caregivers.
