[color=#000099][/color] Undoubtedly, a lot of people have hdard about GOD on this forum. Some believe in Him, while others don't(aren't they the ones that dominate Nairaland?). While some commit themselves to Him, others don't. Nonetheless, I am obliged to introduce you to the Creator of the universe, the King of kings, who,of course, is also a loving Father. To start off, GOD is a lover of all men unconditionally. However, He is not interested in one-sided relationship. When you realise the immense love GOD has towards you,He expects you to reciprocate this love by being committed to Him with all your heart,soul and mind. I am opined to say that modern day Christians like us are the reason many are far from GOD. We have conjured up a picture of GOD in two ways- a loving but extremely indulgent GOD, and a capricious slave-master-like GOD. Christians who believe their own righteousness will tale them to Heaven have the latter view. However, I would like to discuss the former view.

Christians who think GOD wouldn't punish His own 'hand-made creaures' are making the same mistake atheists make when they say "there is no GOD". The same Scriptures that talks about the Lord being a merciful GOD(Psalm 103: did not forget to add that He is also a consuming fire(Hebrews 12:29). I am pretty sure those who don't believe in Him, not to talk of committing themselves to Him,know that the imagery of fire doesn't seem appealing to them. That is why they say hell is a threat and still refuse to obey GOD. They are,however, ignorant of the fact that commitment to GOD makes one enjoy the benefits of having a loving father. Using the prodigal son as an instance, he had all he could ever desire. He was the younger son of a wealthy man, however,his nonchalant attitude,rebellion and quest for 'freedom' made him ask for his portion of his father's wealth. When things went bad,he came back to his father's house to be given a second chance- even if it is the position of a servant.
