The African dream should be about bringing stability & democracy in Africa and liberalizing economy for growth.
Spirituality will prevail itself as trust in government, optimism and nationalism rises.

Now there’s something we agree on in principle; however, it’s not clear what form of government we are to eventually adopt, I suspect this would vary across the regions.

Africans has always a system of government; it just needs a few tweaks that would set to be fit the 21st century.

Whatever it’s eventually associated with, democracy, communism, socialism or whatever, will be deliberated upon and chosen by Africans and not imposed ones.

The global world is broken and needs fixing. The only thing on our planet that can come close enough to finding a cure for the entire global world’s problems is the spirituality according to an African.

That is to say, the narative has changed. There’s need for us Africans to stop looking outwards for nothingingness.

All the answers of the world’s problems are in our dormain one way or another.

Africans held all the answers to all worldly problems.

There is no people(s) outside of Africa (Diaspora) that really wishes Africans any good, all they are really after are our minerals.

The best thing about our Great continent is widely considered her trickiest among her many great qualities; natural resources.

Our Great continent is the oldest and as a result, the richest on the planet.

Let’s re-write history for the sake of the coming generation. The ones we keep passing-the-buck to, they are going to need a good start, or a concept to develop.

Here’s is what’s proposed:

The African Dream.

What is the African dream?

The African dream is the narrative that stands on the assumption that the rest of the world is crazed with lust for materialistic things and has neglected what really matters, our relationship with (the African) God(s).

Furthermore, it’s us Africans that will eventually have to come to the rescue of the rest of the world.

In this scenario, all organised religions operating in the African continent will eventually lose out to this new way of thinking. A pan - African progressive narrative that anywhere in the world Africans can relate to, work towards and rally around.

No Africa has never had a system of government! Almost every tribe has had its own unique system of government but it never works across whole tribes. You imposing the Yoruba system of government over the entire tribe and let me know how many Obas you'd end up with. And while you're at it, consider the constant squabbles they'd have for resources. Modakeke-Ife is a hint, along with Oyo-Ife, and my very own Orolu Kingdom with our neighbours.

We had British parliamentarism because it's what we inherited and when we didn't want it no more, we were the soldiers who imposed military rule on ourselves, and when we were fed up of guns we chose the American presidential system! None of these forms of government were imposed on us, so stop making out we are helpless and don't have a say in the matter. We do!

In my opinion, you guys have a great advantage that you can learn from mistake of others. West doomed itself with inequality while capitalizing while Soviet socialism kept every citizen equally poor. China & India screwed their economies trying to run socialist economies and experienced economic gains after dropping it.

Best is to put a free market liberalized economy with an array of socialist scheme to help poor. You'd need capitalization to increase per capita income of your countries and second part will make sure that no one is deprived completely off that boom. But first thing Africa will have to do is dismantle all foreign military bases & interventions.

West is already stuck, Asia will age and stop growing in next 4-5 decades, best wishes to Africa.

Let me help you to understand what is being proposed here. Africa is a huge and complexed common multi-cultural society. The system of government adopted are not fit for purpose. In acknowledging that then there’s need for an immediate change in the way we look at the world and to define our rightful place in it.

Sounds like Trumps MAGA to me. "Those immigrants are coming to take our stuff", when the truth is we are very happy to sell our stuff to them and beg them even to come buy it at discount. We even sold our own people to them! Or are you of the opinion some white people came to hunt for slaves in Africa? The truth is we drove our own people in shackles and chains to the coast where they were waiting for us. And today we are prepared to walk through deserts and swim the channel to sell ourselves in their land!

Our African gods (philosophy, ways of reasoning) are old and antiquated. They are no different to the ancient Greek and Roman gods of thunder and iron, which they were wise enough to abandon when superior gods of books turned up. And they were better of for it. Today, they are abandoning those gods of the book for the gods of their own senses (science), and are much better off still. And the new gods (ways of reasoning and seeing things), is not theirs, but belongs to all humans who are willing to learn it. And we Africans better start learning, or we will just continue to be worse off. Going backward to some glorious past that never exists is, well...........

You need to learn or read more on African history. Ignorance is not an excuse in 2019. The Atlantic Slavetrade was a making primarily of Arabs and Europeans; yes some Africans are implicated too but the blame lies squarely on the Arabs and Europeans.

The Europeans came to Africa, stole her precious stones, copied her precious text, jumbled it up and created a Jesus story to help subjugate their crazy campaigns; i.e crusades & holy wars.

The Arabs came to Africa, stole her precious stones, copied her precious text, jumbled it up and created Islam to help subjugate their crazy campaigns; i.e. crusades & holy wars.

The early Christian & Islamic crusades are considered by modern day historians to be one of the deciding factors on how broken the world is today.

All religions got their concept of God from Africa, including the Greeks.

Have you seen Greece lately? The Greeks aren’t fairing so well.

African philosophy is the only solution to the world’s problems. A good reason for foreigners to want our souls.

The African concept of God is original one. Many have been brain-washed to hate their own culture and traditions.

That’s the reason all the organised religions operating in Africa are silent weapons of mass destruction; badly needs to be addressed.

In the course of human history, African God(s) is seen as the most pleasant, fair, caring and unbiased divinities the world has ever seen.

Africans can rule the world again if they find their true identity again.

Get rid of all the ties from colonialism including their religion(s).

Start from the beginning again. I suggest something radical as re-drawing all the boundaries within Africa.

Re-constructing the entire continent with defence and prosperity in mind.

This will be a huge campaign that could last longer than 100 years, but it would be worth the wait.

Looking inwards and fixing our problems.

Really? "Africans are implicated too", but its not our fault that we sold ourselves? What about African slavery in general, which predated the Atlantic and Arab trade? Were Martians selling or buying us then, or is it your claim that we Africans never enslaved and sold one another to each other before the Arabs and Europeans arrived?

Amujale:
The Europeans came to Africa, stole her precious stones, copied her precious text, jumbled it up and created a Jesus story to help subjugate their crazy campaigns; i.e crusades & holy wars.
Really? What text? Weren't they reading before Jesus? Why didn't we jumble up our own texts and use it to subjugate others? And what stones? The little they took from you in antiquity? Or the billions in dollars worth they've taken in the past one hundred years?

I wonder what we Africans were doing when foreigners turned up on our soil, stole our texts and jumbled them up to subjugate others and dig up our precious stones and cart them off to their foreign land. Might it be that we were too busy being dim and never knew they were precious perhaps! Or don't we know how to jumble? Those bloody Arabs and Europeans! Smart enough to steal from us and make their lands heaven while we, the stolen from, can't seem to make much of what we have and live in hell!

Amujale:
The Arabs came to Africa, stole her precious stones, copied her precious text, jumbled it up and created Islam to help subjugate their crazy campaigns; i.e. crusades & holy wars.
Really? There were no books before then? Sorry man, but I don't think I can go on with this anymore. The facts are that text and knowledge was never the preserve of any one race. The Egyptians themselves knew this and stocked up the great library in Alexandria by confisticating any written text brought into the city, copying it, keeping the original and letting the owner keep the copy while we kept their original. Those bloody thieving Europeans and Arabs stealing our precious texts and precious stones!

Egyptian early writing is the hieroglyphs seen on ancient walls. But even way back before Christ, the occupants of the area claimed aliens from out of space wrote it and never taught them to read it. I bet you there's quite a lot of information in those glyphs, but who deciphered them? Your Europeans, who came, did the work and learnt what they meant while the African insisted they were written by aliens from out of space because that's what they'd been told by their African forefathers. Rather than learn from those texts, we decided to make gods of them and bow down to worship them! And you stand there blaming those who saw value, which we seem blind to in what belonged to us!

Same happens today. In Europe, everyone knows the Bible comes off a printing press, and Jesus very likely came out of jumbled up texts from Africa. But go to Africa and they'd tell you some gods wrote it and it should be bowed to and worshipped, and if an European were to arrive in Africa and tell us they wrote it and not the gods, don't we call them satanists, and heathens, and atheists, and they are going to hell? Yet you want to blame the Europeans for such African ignorance when it is we Africans condemning each other for not believing in some god brought to us 500 years ago by Europeans who have abandoned such childish ways. The same text they read and built monuments to and went on to develop light so you can see in the dark, vessels so you can travel long distances in rather short times and go as far as the moon and Mars, and devices so you can throw your voice over long distances to tell me to go read some more!

I blame we Africans for being so naive to believe such tripe and not see value in what belonged to Africa! And I do so because I like to take responsibility for what happens to me rather than lament the fact that my oppressors are not kinder. I don't expect them to be kind, history does not suggest they would ever be kind, so I make sure I'm not stupid enough to fall for their trickery. And so I can resist them even more, I learn their ways too. After all, it benefits one to know one's enemy, though to be honest, they aren't so much ones enemies so much more than we are the enemies of ourselves, as I'm gathering from conversing with you!

We are far behind quite a lot of the world because we don't steal, or at least, don't learn from the rest of the world. One just need go around our education institutions and compare with the West, or talk to you in fact, to know how far behind we are. Shutting in and trying to invent wheels just ain't going to cut it. Nor is the world waiting for you to catch up.

When China found themselves lagging far behind the West, they didn't shut themselves away and claim they'd make up their own knowledge and invent wheels. They robbed and stole technology and knowledge from those who had it and are now the manufacturers of what you claim the West consumes. "You eat", they say, "and we'll sell you Made in China". Now go check how much America, the gluttons of the world, owe very smart China. Yet, stupid Trump is blaming China for not buying America just as you are blaming others for Africa's plight instead of asking your own people to not be so greedy and wake up and smell the coffee!

It's about responsibility. No one exploits one unless one allows them too. And we serve Africa better by understanding we create our own problems and can easily create the solution too instead of making up spurious history and blaming the Europeans and Arabs for your own backwardness! The longer you go on with the blaming, your "African dream" will remain just that, dream that's more like a nightmare you never wake up from! But don't you go away now. I got cold water in my made in Germany Bosch fridge which I'll poor on your head to wake you up because, "Ignorance is not an excuse in 2019" !

Clouds like those that precede a thunderstorm in my Orolu Kingdom. And it will be not much different till sometime in May. And then I think of my beloved Africa, so blessed with resources, human most especially, and sunshine all year round that we haven't figured to use yet and so live in the dark. I spoke to ma earlier and she complained how hot it is in the Orolu Kingdom while I have to pay lots of money so I don't freeze to death!

Egyptians didn’t commission the ‘libraries in Alexandria’, that was a Greek by the name Alexander the third of Macedon.

It is said that all the famous Greek academics visited Egypt, e.g Plato, Aristotle, Herodotus, Socrates e.t.c.

Pythagoras is known to have spent over 20 years in Africa.

Socrates admits in one of his books, “ I studied philosophy and medicine in Egypt”

Egyptian never thought their writings was from aliens, that’s royaly incorrect.

Are you aware the current people of Egypt are not related to the ancient Egyptians.

The translation of hieroglyphs for global consumption is an international effort. A thorough and comprehensive analyses would later be presented in Karenga Maulana and Raymond Faulkner’s books on Egyptology.

Similar to what you say, our destination point is similar, although we might disagree on how to get there. I agree with the spirit of your post here.

Solar energy is common sense, even with the Chinese lobbying governments so as to sell us electrical generators, solar energy has to emerge as a viable option for the general public.
