it will be replacing nilesat 101 and 102 when it's fully in orbit say by september, this is because they have exhausted their lifespan. we sincerely hope the cha-cha nature of the new satellite will guarante us better signals.

wao! this 201 seems to me like nilesat re-loaded! it's like they're trying to make amends for the mistake they made with the new atlantic bird 4a which cut off almost half of the area of coverage of its predecessor.

i think they are learning fast!

at this stage we should all know that there's a huge difference between theoreticals and practicals, dont get over joyous with the new map, but wait till the moment when you watch your screen. thats when you'll know maybe they wanna better our lots or not.

on 11449 i got the signal up to 42 but no green.though the weather was bad then ,kind of cloudy and raining yesternight.

nilesat 201 is located at 10.25w and not 7w.

Ku band EIRP is 45dBW at the edge of coverage (blue line). 49 dBW is the highest EIRP of this satellite which can be get in some of major Arab cities.

If you are out of blue line, EIRP will be lower and you will need bigger dish.
