Although Senator Dino Melaye said yesterday that he wasn't in Abuja and promised to turn himself in when he come back next week, the Nigerian Police Force has vowed not to leave his residence until he surrenders.

The continued remain at his house yesterday was the third day into the siege by the police on the Abuja residence of the Senator.

According to the police force the lawmaker is wanted for a case of criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide committed on July 19, 2018.


The police alleged that Melaye and “his armed thugs” attacked police personnel and shot and wounded one Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, who was attached to 37 Mobile Force (PMF) on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.
