Adamu Mohammed, a former commissioner of police in Enugu state, has been appointed acting inspector-general of police (IGP). He replaces Ibrahim Idris, who has attained the statutory retirement of 60 in the force.. Mohammed hails from Nasarawa state. He was said to have been appointed from the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos. Mohammed was a deputy commissioner of police in Ekiti state and had served at the Interpol. Notice how he didn't appoint DIGP but AIGP? Because all next in line are southerners. Same thing with the outgoing IG; he was AIGP. Had there been no credible Northerner in the AIGP rank, he would have gone the Customs route; go and bring in a former retired northern military officer....something that has never been done before in the history of Nigeria. As usual, dumb Nigerians will pretend like nothing happen and go about their daily activities.
