Japan as we all know is a land of production, and it's passport has been ranked the most powerful passport in the world with it's citizens enjoying visa-free/visa-on-arrival access to 190 destinations.

From the record of Henley passport index which source it's data from the international Air Transport Authority (IATA), Nigeria gained visa free access ( net-free-access) to three new countries, making it's visa-free access to 46 countries in total.

Speaking on the methodology of the ranking, Henley said: for each travel destination,if no visa is required for passport holders from a country or territory, then a score with value = 1 is created for that passport.

" This same methodology is also applied if a passport holder can obtain a visa on arrival, a visitor's permit,or an electronic travel authority (ETA) When entering the destination. These visa-types require no pre-departure government approval, because of the specific visa-waiver program in place.

Where a visa is required,or where a passport holder has to obtain a government-approved eletronic visa (e-visa) before departure,a score with value = 0 is assigned. A score with value = 0 is also assigned if passport holders need pre- departure government approval for a visa on arrival, in this scenario we do not consider 'visa-free'."

For the benefits of those who may want to embark on travelling to Tanzania: Tanzania has a new Visa policy in that policy, Nigerians are no longer given Visa on arrival and thus a lot of Nigerians have been deported recently because of this misinformation. All Nigerians are required to apply for Tanzania Visa in Abuja before travelling to Tanzania.
