In Lagos, our love for short cuts is legendary. For some bizarre reasons – Lagosians are always in a hurry. Lagosians always have a way of circumventing established processes without any consideration for their consequences. For instance, these wire mesh fences were constructed by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration along very busy expressways in the state. They were constructed to discourage pedestrians from crossing the expressway. The median fences also serve the purpose of discouraging street trading and hawking on these expressways. Also, with the fences – pickpockets, robbers and other criminals who emerge from nowhere and snatch valuables from unsuspecting pedestrians before disappearing into their hideouts have also being prevented from operating easily. Despite these benefits, some sections of the median have been cut out to serve as thoroughfare for errant pedestrians. In the pictures below, some Lagosians – despite the conspicuous presence of a pedestrian bridge and the inherent risk of getting run over by speeding motorists – can be seen using the cut out section of the wire fence as short cuts to the other side of the road. Why do Lagosians put themselves in harms way? Indeed, Lagosians, why are we like this? Source: https://autojosh.com/lagosians-why-are-we-like-this-photos/ 7 Likes 1 Share

Hoodlums destroy it most times at night and when someone passes there and he or she isn't caught, it becomes a normal route. The remaining of the wire fence also starts getting destroyed by itself when a part had been destroyed. 8GB Atm card flash drive for #1000 only. That’s why Igbos come to Lagos, make money, run to their “village “ and build mansions so that when Lagos eventually scatters, they will will go back home to their backup plan . An average Igbo man knows that Lagos is not his home. If you’re still wondering why they travel en-masse to their homes during Christmas , you must still be a dreamer . Even though they come to Lagos, build houses , put yorubas as their tenants , they will collect their rents and send it back home. In other words, Lagos is on the verge of collapse , only the wise take action. **Spits on the smelly gutters of Lagos, and runs outa thread** 32 Likes 2 Shares |

Runs in the gene The only thing I always miss about Nigeria is lawlessness Do tell my home boiz you could kill someone publickly and go scot-free if you have money in my country. And that you could pack your car in the middle of a busy express road and start partying. The police will have to come and beg you to go after tipping all of them. 11 Likes |

Even the banner from a pastor exhorting pedestrians to use the bridge and obey constituted authority, as Jesus asked in His own time with the Israelites, is being ignored. Most residents in Lagos are not conscious of their own safety when they are in public. It is in Lagos that a keke or okada rider and passenger going one-way will insult you that is on your right of way to clear the road for them to pass. Uwa Legosi emebigo kemgbe. 9 Likes |

where penalties are not adhered to, then there is no law... if the consequences for taking that route is grave, they would subconsciously avoid taking it |

It is not only in Lagos. In Abuja, the median fence erected at Wuye District, NICON Junction, Mabushi have all been cut open at several places. It also surprising that you will see people cross the 10 lane express-way just under a pedestrian bridge, even when several accidents and people have been knocked down due to this crossing. We find it difficult to obey basic rules, we walk across lawns at will. Our desires to break even simple laws is legendary. 7 Likes |
