A six-year-old boy was beheaded right in front of his screaming mother in Saudi Arabia for belonging to the wrong branch of Islam.

The kid and his mother visited a shrine to the Prophet Muhammad in Medina. While there, they were allegedly approached and were asked if they were Shia Muslims. The mum said they are indeed Shia Muslims and several minutes later a car pulled up beside them and the child was snatched away from her.

The boy was then repeatedly stabbed in the neck with a piece of broken glass until he was beheaded, it is claimed. His mum cried out helplessly as he was killed in front of her.

In Saudi Arabia, the predominant branch of Islam is Sunni, accounting for around three quarters of the population.

This is absolutely ridiculous. What have Christians got to do with killing others for their religious beliefs? Christians and Muslims are the same, even in some parts of Nigeria pastors carry out witch-hunts and and most of their victims are children and women and they are often lynched, abandoned or thrown into crocodile infested rivers

You are wrong . Christianity does not teach its followers to kill witches or people of other faith.

Judaism is not Christianity.

The constitution or laws guiding the Christians is the Bible which specifically makes it clear that we should seek peace and holiness with all men , without which no man can make heaven. It also teaches that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual ...
Also , Jesus is our master which whose foot steps we must follow. He never killed but healed , deliver and followed peace .

What about Islam ? Its teachings and the examples of what Muhammad did teaches nothing but hatred and violence .

Yes, I read that part. The issue is why mention Christianity in a matter that has nothing to do with the Christian faith? What if I responded to the report in the op by emphasizing how atheists in similar manner persecute Christians psychologically by calling them derogatory names and insulting the Christian God? Does that even make any sense? It only reveals the speaker's bigot and deep-seated hatred towards the Christians.

If you studied the Quran, you'll find justification and explanation for the barbaric acts perpetuated by the Islamists. However, when you go through the Bible, particularly the New Testament, where is the justification for Christians burning and killing those suspected of witchcraft? Where is the justification for Christians killing those who disagreed with the established notion of the earth's shape? Whatever Christians do today the Bible is already a guide to whether their actions are right or wrong, and the Word of God will never change come forever.

Besides, what has changed in Christianity to make today's Christians see things differently from Christians of the past? What changed?

Christians are still in the killing business. Most KKK and White supremacist folk consider them Christians and they see people like you as SAVAGES. Most western politicians who perpetrate war against third world countries are Christians and have been supported by evangelical Christians. These wars have resulted in the killing of millions of millions of people. What about the Lord's Resistance Army in Central Africa that has caused the death of thousands upon thousands of people and rape of thousands of women.

Worse of all is Christianity's psychological abuse of Gods creation through the fear of eternal torment ( a MYTH ) , encouraging hatred for others who are not part of their sect and discriminating against non believers based on their faith.

There are more Christians killed for their religious belief than there are Muslims killed for their religious belief. Muslims, whether violent or non-violent, have the same religious belief in Allah, and as such, they more likely to see each other as brothers and sisters despite their differing methods in applying the laws and instructions of Allah.

It is not so with Christians as the Quran specifically instructs the Muslims to kill Christians and Jews. By virtue of this, Christians are more likely in danger of persecution or being killed by Islamists. This is why there are hardly Christian gatherings in Muslim nations, so much so that they are non-existent. However, you will find mosques spring up everywhere like grass in Christian nations, and no one is persecuting them.

Christianity before Constantine was a prosecuted sect but after Constantine decreed Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire,the Christians became the prosecutors of any opposing view or religion. Christianity was imposed on non believers in the Empire by force and any non believer was liable to be killed. History is filled with stories of Christians killing for their God,as well as burning books of opposing views.
