There was temporary respite for Lagosians who regularly ply the Ikorodu road-Western Avenue expressway last week.

These commuters woke up to meet the absence of parked container trucks on the expressways and on popular flyover bridges along the expressways.

This was last Friday – a day before the APC Presidential campaign.

A campaign rally was scheduled for Saturday at the Teslim Balogun stadium. The stadium is situated  along the Western Avenue axis of the expressway.

The overnight relocation of the trailers came as a huge and pleasant surprise to Lagosians.

The presence of these parked trailers has become a a major nuisance on expressways in Lagos. They have become the primary cause of traffic gridlock on these roads.

The situation has become a hopeless situation. Efforts by the successive Lagos state government to relocate these trucks from the expressways yielded no result.

Even threats by the army - who believed that the presence of the parked trucks on bridges opposite the Abati barrack was a security risk - failed to get the trucks away from the expressway.

Sadly, less than 48 hours after the APC presidential campaign in Lagos, the container trucks are back on the expressways and bridges in Lagos.

See photo below.

The place has always been run like a cartel. I think the government should partner with the private sector and proffer a lasting solution to this menace staring at us.

What a Shameful atrocious act and an affront on our intelligence.

They were busy begging yesterday on broadcast.

They don't know this is 2019 and we as a people are wiser. If any govt displays any sign of incompetence we vote them out and try another till we filter the "old cargoes" out

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has said the ruling All progressives Congress, APC, government’s clearing of the state of its legendary traffic gridlock, especially in Apapa area, ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Saturday visit was an act of ‘hypocrisy & wickedness’.

This is a clear example of what to expect if Buhari gets reelected. They are traveling up and down making empty noise like they did in 2015. if Nigerians are decieved into voting them again the hardship will be morethan times 3

How will any sane govt allow trucks to park on bridges ?

You posted almost 10 pics without any of them showing tricks on bridges but your title says trucks on bridges ...

Who told u they don't know how to remove them permanently? They just don't wanna do it, the style of government apc and pdp run is, create problem and later say, they have created solutions, before u know it, u will hear billions has been spent on logistic and building parks or relocation them... Don't forget, same apc governorship candidate in coming election said he will solve the grid lock in 60 days... That means they know wat they doing... If u want this nation to move forward, Vote for those who wount politik with peoples welfare and peoples lives, who wount create problem to steal money... Vote AAC for a new kind of leadership... Vote Sowore to move Nigeria forward
