Basically every human being has emotions. Emotions that arise can be positive emotions or negative emotions. Emotion is a normal expression of various things that occur in life. Because emotions are words or expressions of feelings that come out from within a person, therefore you must express your emotions appropriately.

Everyone must have different emotional levels, but each person is required to be able to control his emotions well. Unfortunately, many people are not able to control their emotions well.

Often negative emotions such as anger and disappointment overwhelm you more, so you cannot concentrate. In fact, you can do things that harm others.

Expressing emotions right and knowing how to control your emotions will make you feel better. Therefore, it is important to know how to control emotions.

The following are ways to control emotions that you can try, including:

Change viewpoint
This way of controlling emotions is very easy to do. Because basically emotions are a normal expression of something, you can give different meanings to an event.

For example, when there are 2 people sitting at a table near you laughing, those with greater negative emotions are of the view that the person is laughing at you. Therefore, change the way you think that the person laughs has nothing to do with you. This technique is called cognitive reappraisal .

Change focus
Often someone is emotional because there is an inferiority complex. To overcome this, try to focus your attention on people who are social status / achievement under you.

Realize your current existence, feelings and thoughts and the environment around you. This can make you more aware and positive in responding to everything.

Change the situation
If someone is disappointed with an event, then negative emotions will surely appear in him. For example, you are often emotional every time you cook but there is no one to eat. Then the way out is you change the cuisine, for example by cooking food that your husband / child likes. If you are emotional while standing, try sitting. If you are emotional while in the room, try walking to the yard.

Do not rush
If you are someone who is emotional when running things in a hurry, then try to make a good plan so that you do not need to rush to run a certain job. For example, if you often get emotional when meeting someone friend, then try to keep a distance from that friend.

Manage time by arranging schedules and making plans for things that need to be done. Planning will help you reduce stress.

Busy with hobbies
Running activities that make you happy can create positive emotions in everyday life. Working on a hobby that you like makes you feel relaxed in your own world.

Give help to others
This way of controlling emotions is one way that is also recommended by many religions. Giving activities can make you happy. Giving here is not only interpreted with material, but you can also provide time help to give a smile.
