The Chap Ojekoyo Goes To School by AmeLonRo(m): 1:45pm On Mar 04, 2019
Ojekoyo started school at the age of ten. Most of his class mates where aged seven on the average. He was the oldest in the class. On his first day in school, he just finished eating a bag of beans with some fishes from other towns. During the morning assembly as they were being addressed by the headmistress, Ojekoyo farted loudly and the noise made the headmistress to run thinking it was something harmful that landed. She however returned when she discovered it was someone that farted. When the headmistress returned, there was a kind of smell on the ground where all the school pupils were assembled. The smell started gradually like rotten egg smell and it increased gradually. The headmistress wanted to speak but had to cover her nose as the odour was much. The other teachers started running to their offices one after the other. The pupils too could not bear it again and ran as fast as their legs could carry them like Cheetah to their classes. By the time they got to the offices and classes the bad odour was waiting for them. The traders in the supermarket and other business owners around the school left their ware and ran home. The pupils left their bags and food and ran home. The teachers and school officers ran home too. The school headmistress informed the town head who called an emergency town meeting to know what it was that caused the bad odour. It was at this meeting that it was made popular by those who knew that it was Ojekoyo that farted. The school and town was surprised at this kind of farting that could smell four kilometres radius from the point of emancipation.

The town head was intimated about other characteristics possessed by Ojekoyo. His parents long wait, his huge eating style, his plentiful drinking appetite, his copious fish catching prowess and many more. At this point the town head, chief Jayjay invited some white men from United states of America (USA) who had heard about the fishing prowess of the town and had come to see how they can adopt and amplify the methodology used. The town head dispersed the towns men and women with the children who had gathered for the meeting. He retained Ojekoyo alone. The towns people thought he would be imprisoned, some rumoured he would be banished, some said it was time for him to be killed, some others were silent.

Chief Jayjay happily introduced Ojekoyo to the white visitors from USA. He told Ojekoyo that they wanted to know and adopt his fish attracting techniques. The visitors were happy to meet with him too. Without wasting time, they requested that they go to the river but Ojekoyo objected because according to him he had not eaten that morning and hence was not thirsty for water and had no business yet with the river and fishes. Chief Jayjay asked that they boil a bag of yam for him. Ojekoyo sat in the king’s palace and devoured the yam with palm oil. The white men counted three hundred pieces of cut yam that Ojekoyo swallowed. This amazed them and they immediately offered to take him with them to America as it was a wonder that a single man will consume three hundred large chunks of boiled yam at a sitting. When Ojekoyo got to the river with his parents, Chief Jayjay and the US visitors, he jumped into the river, began to swim, drank the river water and the fishes started coming close to him and he started picking them one after the other into his normal sack. He drank and drank from the river. As long as he was drinking, the fishes were coming close to him and he kept picking them into his sack. This was a pleasant and wonderful surprise for the white men from America. They concluded again that Ojekoyo must replicate this exploits in America. Chief Jayjay said he will go with him to America. Ojekoyo also requested that his parents must follow him to America.

His parents were reluctant on the trip as their fishing and cropping business will be affected. The white men offered to settle whatever the amount they think they would have lost during the trip. Chief Jayjay was overjoyed and reflected that a person with some sort of life problems may also have some life solutions like Ojekoyo. The headmistress of his school was jealous as she is yet to leave the state where she did her University education and here was someone just starting school and now travelling abroad. The teachers and pupils too were now feeling sorry that they should have adapted to his farting smell. They reflected that he being in their school would have brought some good things to them. Within two weeks, the travelling documents of Ojekoyo, Chief Jayjay and his parents were ready.
