When you have different shops in a plaza and have different offices in a building, who complains? The attack on the church is a suffocation of hope. If you drag the church down the lane of rage and verbal insolence, you will only end up taking away solace and hope from the lives of people. Moreso, it will be worse in a country whose government have little or no offer of hope for its citizens.

No it would not. Lack of hope forces humans to look for one. If you say such attack is a "suffocation", tell me what hope some of these fake churches give to their believers? Its not like they can assure you of heaven. Its not like they can assure you of a better today let alone tomorrow. Why not allow them some enlightenment on what God through nature has already provided. Why not allow them learn that apart from divine grace, hard work, discipline and resilience assure a future no fake church can ensure.

Lol....this building right there is the original business center from way back, my neighborhood way back, there’s nothing on earth that has never happened there before. From a drunk tenant falling from the fourth floor, shattering his head into pieces to CCB bank folding up, having the whole neighborhood rolling on the floor with heart wrenching cries to different churches opening up and fighting spiritual battles among themselves, to a coded olosho joint running there codedly......lotta water don pass under this building walahi

What condescension to say that certain people need to have their minds deluded by religious beliefs because it brings hope and solace to them. Hope and solace are not criteria for truth. Given that the hope from religion is based on lies, it never materialises and it confuses and draws the individual back by giving them false expectations. Of what use is a hope that is sure not to materialise? What use is a hope that is based on lies? To depend on such hope is to waste your time, energy and life. Any man who has regard for his fellow man will not give him unrealistic hope and sweet lies rather he would give him the truth even if it's harsh. People need to start learning the truth that religion is ridiculous garbage with no sound basis in reality so that they can start making realistic decisions to solving their problems rather than having their mind confused, dependant and controlled by religion. Any hope must be based on reason eg. I effortlessly answered all the questions in a JAMB past question booklet therefore I have hope I can pass the exams with more preparation. Hope based on lies can be dangerous and even cost people their lives in certain cases.

People must know the truth. The idea that religion must stay because it gives people hope is thoughtless.

Instead of creating science centers to help educate people about science and technology, Nigerians are busy creating useless churches to financially milk id*iots!

Religion has dumbed down Nigerians so badly! The mentality most Nigerians exhibit is no different from the wild chimp's in the jungle! Nigeria is, in fact, the largest zoo on earth!

Not even only the CPM banner. That pole in front of the building has the campaign banner of Odedo, APC candidate for Idemili North and South federal constituency. I was wondering what his campaign banner was doing in the supposed Lagos.

God hasn't changed, but He has changed the way He mete out judgement (punishment) because of the blood Jesus shed for our sake on the cross of Calvary...in the days of the old testament, people prayed directly to God, and at the same time received blessings and punishment swiftly directly from Him too... but after the birth, death and resurrection of Christ, we started praying through Him to God.

Let me give you few examples of how swift God's punishments were in the Old Testament:

1. Lot's wife was executed by being immediately turned into a pillar of salt when she disobeyed the command to not view the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:17, 26).

After Christ: People tend to disobey God without immediate punishment, giving them the window to go back to ask for forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

2. Phinehas and Hophni, sons of Eli the High Priest, served as priests at the tabernacle in Shiloh. They took advantage of their authority by coercing those who came to offer animal sacrifices to give them whatever part of the beast they demanded (1Samuel 2:12 - 17). They also had illicit sex with some of the women who came to worship (1Samuel 2:22).

God declared, through an unnamed prophet, that he would have the two men executed on the same day because of their many sins (1Samuel 2:25, 34). This prophecy was fulfilled when the Philistines not only killed them during a battle but also took from under their care the Ark of the Covenant (1Samuel 4:1 - 11).

After Christ: You know how many men of God get away with those sins these days?

3. Uzzah, a Levite who was helping escort the Ark of the Covenant for King David, was killed instantly when he rashly tried to steady it as it traveled toward Jerusalem (2Samuel 6:7). Hananiah, a false prophet who led the people to believe lies, is executed by God within a year after he is told by the prophet Jeremiah he will be punished for his sins (Jeremiah 28:12 - 17).

This was another swift and cruel judgement that is still confusing to me till now.

My brother, though I am not perfect in eyes of God, and I know I am a sinner...But I served, read and listened to the word of God to the extent that I know that Jesus was the game changer...he changed everything.

How can you change the way you meter judgement yet you don't change your mind. so many inconsistencies and counter claims in the bible. It's 2019 yet some "educated" folks still take these books serious. Shame!!

Let me just indulge u for the last time...u know it is easier for u to enter into a discussion with someone who believes in and is knolwlegable on d topic of discuss than someone who stumbled across a verse in d old testament on d internet to drive home his position on d matter.

I would have engaged u further if u were a believer...then we could maybe rob minds and reach a mutual understamding on d subject, afterall, nobody knows it all...so understand why i am "running away"....I won't bcus of u sin further against my God...bye bye and stay blessed.
