Every face tells a story. Some tell stories of happiness, some of sadness. In a typical Yoruba setting, the expression on an elder’s face could be a warning, correction, or message that needed to be passed across.

In the military, faces are used as mechanisms in passing information, warnings or insightful messages. However, the importance of the varieties of meanings accorded to various kinds of facial expressions is that they tell different stories at different times for various reasons.

People go through a lot in their daily engagements, and for some people it is displayed in facial expressions while some people tend to express control over their emotions by using mechanism of smiles to divert people's attention from the issues they face.

These days, people tend to get things mixed up. Sometimes the story we seem to derive from looking at people's faces might not be accurate. While some laugh when good things happen to them, others possess the habit of shedding tears when they are grieved. And while some cry in pains, others laugh hysterically. These are contrasts of life.
