I am about to buy my first car with little or no experience of these two cars or cars in general. Leggedis Benz don tire me. Please car gurus, I need your candid advice on which of either Toyota Corolla 2006 or Toyota Matrix 2005 I should go for, having in mind issues of maintenance, fuel economy, design, etc. Also, backing up your advice with your experience with any of the two cars, if any, would be of invaluable help.

I will advice you go for Matrix, it’s more of a mini-SUV. Same maintenance with the Corolla but little peace of mind, and enough cargo space.

Toyota corolla is far better.. I have used matrix n presently using the corolla... U will tnk me later.

For a first timer, I'll advice you get a Toyota corolla. Fuel consumption is moderate and maintenance is average.

If you buy Corolla be ready to face the sleepless night that comes with it

Toyota Corolla - very decent and not flamboyant; doesn't consume much fuel; same as matrix but comparatively, the body parts is more expensive than matrix.

Both have same engine but i will preferred corolla ahead of matrix. Corolla body part are available and cheap compare to matrix. Pls buy corolla

Corolla is more preferable in terms of fuel economy and maintenance unlike the matrix which no second hand values. Although both have the same engine efficiency but in terms of comfort and durability, I will tell you to go for corolla. I have a friend that have used the corolla b4 and I can see the level of maintenance and durability.

I have both cars so let me give you some tips.

My matrix is 4wd so that is the one I can talk about not the single drive version.

The parts of my matrix are more expensive than the corrola. What i buy for 3500 in corrolla I buy for 12,000 in matrix.

The matrix is strong though but the corrolla is more fuel efficient

If you are male buy corolla. If female buy matrix. Corolla though does not have much space and if you want to dispose it off its faster. Remember if you are getting tokunbo pls check for d vin to know the car history make u no go troway money oh. My 2cents
