No less than 16 people kicked the bucket on Friday evening when three vehicles crashed at Tukai Village in the Dambatta Local Government Area in Kano State, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Mr. Kabiru Ibrahim, affirmed this in an announcement on Saturday.

The announcement said the mishap happened at about 7.30pm and that it included a Honda Accord, Peugeot 406 and Volkswagen Golf.

Ibrahim said the mishap was brought about by speed limit infringement which prompted the loss of control by the drivers.

As indicated by him, FRSC authorities took the carcasses to Dambatta Hospital.

He said police recouped N579,000 and 10,000 CFA franc on a salvage mission.

Ibrahim guaranteed that the cash would be given to relations of the proprietors when distinguished.
