Our ways too deserve to be prosperous and the key to that was given as the continual application of God's word or book. The continual use of God's word in our heart is brought about by continual meditation on Gods word.

It shows us that true prosperity is preceded by doing God's word and doing God's word is enabled and preceded by meditation upon it.

Next time we hear about prosperity preachers let's not be quick to jump into the conclusion of money prosperity. Prosperity goes well beyond money. In Job 2:4-5 after Satan had attacked Job's possessions and material things in Job 1 but Job remained with God, and Satan was forced to attack his health or health prosperity as a higher target while looking desperately for what will turn him against God.
His health wasn't enough to turn him against God though according to Job 42.

Prosperity goes well beyond money, brethren be warned!

The wording, prosper, in that your quoted 3 John 1:2 verse actually means, progress, as in, forward or onward movement towards an expected destination. God's aim, as echoed in Jeremiah 29:11 above is that we all come to a positive and expected end, have a healthy body, a wealthy soul and spirit.

Honesty is the rarest wealth anyone can possess. You're either dishonest or naive, if when you hear about prosperity preachers and their glib, you dont know that they are preaching a perversion of the gospel, the sort popularised by the Word of Faith Movement.

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost. When health is lost, something is lost. When character is lost, all is lost. Satan went after Job's wealth in vain, then next, focused on to Job's health, but still to no avail, and this all because Job's character remained intact. Job was able to prevail because the most important thing which is his character didnt crumble. Job had a wealthy soul and spirit.

The Prosperity Gospel (PG) preachers dont as much talk about any wealthy soul and spirit but rather put the emphasis on financial blessing to the detriment of the more important aspects of the whole matter. Wealthy soul and spirit are played down in favour of finacial blessing or money and/or material possesions.

Some many instances in the Bible, like Matthew 6:19 advises for very good reasons: ""Do not lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal." Some people are so poor, because all they have on earth is their money and nothing else stored up for them in heaven

Prosperity, from God's perspective, in the sense of, coming to a positive and expected end is God's thoughts for us.

Prosperity Gospel (PG) preachers always mislead and exploit the sheeple with good yarns that putting down seed faith money for multiplication, giving obligatory ecclesiastical tithing etcetera will increase one's chance of having financial breakthroughs, money and/or material wealth.

The classic specimen of a human being @Muttleylaff has really spoken well.

It is a very good thing we pattern our lives and well-being according to the Lord Jesus Christ, He had all His needs/wants supplied at the right time and was lacking in nothing when He was on earth. He also had a treasurer(Judas Iscariot) and women supporters like Joanna, Mary Magdalene, Susana and a host of others who ministered to and provided for Him and them (the disciples) out of their property and personal belongings.

In the teaching of prosperity most people are on the extremes;

1.Many don't have their wants supplied according to God's riches in heaven because they think they ought to have nothing in order not to veer from the way of salvation thereby thinking it is God's will for them and other Christians to remain poor(materially). Even the spiritual life of most people in this category is not robust enough based on my own opinion.

2. Many have accumulated all things for themselves, then, have a developed mindset that they are in line with God not knowing they are on the way that seemeth right but leads to destruction. These set of people judge their spiritual growth by their material gains. What a pity!

I totally agree with you @codeTemplar. Prosperity is all way round and most especially in Spirit, Soul and Body.

In all, we should try and know God's plan concerning our lives in regards to the mission He has assigned for us here on earth and ask Him to supply all that we need to accomplish it both Spiritually and Materially.
