My husband is a US Soldier that was stationed in Afghanistan. He was on his way home in Tennessee when he was stopped in Malaysia and said that he needs a PTA. This is his first time traveling through Malaysia coming home. They said it will cost him$1,250.00 of course he does not have the money and I don't have it to send to him. Should he seek help from US Army; US Embassy; and RED CROSS. He had on his military uniform when they pointed him out as if he had the money because he is military. I don't know if you know but this should have been told to him before he boarded to go home. My question is: Why is this happening? angry

This is unreal!!! My husband is still in Malaysia. He is on his way to the US Embassy. I contacted the American Red Cross for Soldiers and they said that Soldiers and civilians can travel without this PTA fee. They said it is a scam and the victims are first time fliers. We don't know what else to do.
