A 45 year-old truck driver, Oliver Osieme, committed suicide inside his room at Etegwe community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa yesterday June 24th.

Oliver recently fell into depression after losing his job. His truck had developed a major fault which required so much money for him to fix it.

Yesterday while his wife and every member of his family had gone out for their daily activities, Oliver tied a rope to his ceiling fan and committed suicide.

His body was discovered by his wife's sister who returned home from school. He left no suicide note

Confirming the incident, the state police Public Relations Officer, SP. Asinim Butswat, said the command was currently investigating the incident leading to the man’s death.

why do Nigerians overdo anything they want to do, everyday suicide and deaths.

The money people will contribute for burial could have fixed the truck. We never asked to be born. If we chose to end it early i see no biggie there.

Shebi the other day one useless girl dey use depression play on Instagram by taking fanta instead of sniper.

The real fact is that government has failed us in all areas and not ready make things right back to normal

So sad to be a Nigerian. D weak ones who has slipped into depression can’t take it anymore. Our govt has no single regard for human lives. From d federal to d state govt, Pple can barely feed, no shelter. We are indeed d headquarter of poverty in d world nd our govt is cool with it.

Government at all levels need to deploy resources to improve interventions and access to mental health facilities.

If the amount of failures one faced, faces goes deep down this fragile heart can be measured everyone i know would have died already.. some people are not strong enough for pain "COWARDICE".. BE A MAN and tell pain hey you dont hurt if you are going through anything worse imaginable..
Sniper don high for market now the way people dey consume am i no understand why someone would commit suicide because you failed or your girl friend left you ( read that 20times this year on this forum already )

In all my years there'd never been as many suicide reports as I've seen this year. May God have mercy on us.

I don't know whether rate of suicide is increasing or social media makes it easier for us to know.

But do you knw dat as i was reading this post with tears in my eyes My girl friend just came to my house to complain dat she is pregnant with her mother in so much pain but as soon as dey saw me reading this post,it changed deir lives effortlessly, i'm so surprised as i am talking to you now,dey re sheding tears too..they had to call the council of elders and the igwe in the village to bring the offor and the groom price with 5000 kolanut and 5 kegs of Kunu for the wedding..Is God not wonderful?

They need to ban the sales of rope as they did sniper ASAP
