It is meant for only Northern Nigerians.

What a shame
He also does for the whole of Africa, which is often dominated by southern Nigeria.
The general one will still come out.

Those regions he listed are the most poverty stricken. They also need help.

Is there anyone stopping the North from participating in the scheme? They seem not to be interested and why forcing it down on them?

Na wa o!

A southerner running a program for the northerners. Why the discrimination ? This is highly unfortunate

Hello,

We are pleased to announce the partnership between the Tony Elumelu Foundation and UNDP to empower 100,000 additional entrepreneurs in 7 Sahel African countries over a 10-year period. This is in addition to the 10,000 African entrepreneurs that the Foundation is already committed to.

Starting this July, applications open for African entrepreneurs residing in the following countries: Nigeria (Northern), Niger, Chad, Cameroun, Mauritania, Mali and Burkina Faso.

With this partnership, the Tony Elumelu Foundation gives hope to the thousands of African entrepreneurs who have not been selected for its TEF Entrepreneurship Programme. With more partners on the way, we hope to do much more - we are unleashing the potential of the African continent!

If we have the likes of Mr Tony Elumelu 5or10 in Nigeria walahi that pace at which we'll record growth in all sectors will shock the world, May Allah's blessings abound in his family (Amin).

Most commenters read without comprehending for sure.

This very scheme isn't sponsored by Tony Elumelu but the UNDP. They are only using Tony's foundation as a trusted channel to deliver on this program based on the successes recorded in his TEF.

franchasng:
Igbo people have started falling hand.

Tony Elumelu an Igbo man from Delta State decided to sponsor only Northerners who are holding Nigeria under rampage leaving behind the industrious Southern youths just to please politically correct western oligarchs, isokay.

But Dangote did his and gave it only to his people in the north yet these people keep hating and marginalizing Igbos and the same Igbos keep saving their lazy asses, it is well! angry

I know they are doing all these to stop Northern youths, Chadians and Niger youths from joining Islamic terror groups but will that stop them I doubt because they are ungrateful lazy youths who hate progress and civilisation, instead they will still count this good gesture as one of the numerous sins Igbos have been committing against them angry

This is a UNDP program...

The UNDP is merely partnering with the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), as some other organizations and governments (national and sub national) have, working with the TEF through the very successful entrepreneurship and mentoring program already established under the TEF Entrepreneurship Program. However, it is an entirely UNDP initiative and entirely (100%) UNDP funds. Accordingly, in addition to other Partners of the TEF Program (see below), the Program will have as much as 3050 (instead of the usual 1000 TEF) participants this cycle.

Other Partners of the TEF and the TEF Entrepreneurship Program include the Anambra State government, Botswana and Benin Republic (in addition to African Development Bank). These Partners use their own funds (just like the UNDP is doing) to sponsor the participation of their own candidates, nationals/citizens in the TEF Entrepreneurship Program. It’s a WIN-WIN, because these Partners do not have to create their own individual entrepreneurship training and mentoring program and associated infrastructure, and the TEF Program has more beneficiaries.

Why is Dangote not doing this like this? This Tony's move must be political... I don't trust Nigerian businessmen but e try sha though I wonder, must everything be handed to the north on a platter?
Re: Tony Elumelu Foundation Sahel Youth Entrepreneurship Programme For Africans 2019 by EnaibeSam: 10:57am On Jul 10, 2019
So northern Nigeria is a country on its own.
