Nelson ‘Mandiba’ Mandela has an indelible place in the mind of Africans, especially South Africans. His sacrifice and untiring spirit not only saved his country from white supremacy but also the rest of the Black population anywhere in the world.

As we remember him on his birthday, we’ve compiled some dates in Mandela’s life that have become permanent references in the history of the world:

Birth – 18 July 1918
Mandela was born on 18 July 1918 in Umtata, now Cape Town in South Africa. His first name was Rolihlahla, meaning “troublemaker,” as if they know he’ll eventually become a rebel. Mandela came from a royal family, even though he couldn’t have become a king, according to their tradition. In November 2009, the United Nations declared every July 18 as Nelson Mandela International Day.

It was really funny to see the faces of those diehard
apartheid advocates witnessing powerlessly the demise of the evil system they engineered .It was funny to see them lining up at voting booths with those they once perceived as worthless savage negroids.
