The case of Mojekwu v Mojekwu  (1997) 7 NWLR (PT 512) is one of the celebrated Nigerian cases where the Court of Appeal was called upon to decide whether the customary law of the Nnewi people is compatible with the principle of equity. In this case, the court of appeal per Niki Tobi, dismissed the appeal of the appellant on the reasoning that the customary law of the Nnewi people is repugnant to natural justice, equity and mojekwu-v-mojekwu/
