there is functional and absolute immunity, Nigeria grants absolute immunity so there is no distinction between personal and official duties immunity covers all so the bearer can't be prosecuted. However modernized countries have moved on to functional immunity which means a diplomat only enjoys immunity in exercise of formal duty not personal e.g like owning a private business and expecting immunity to cover you from paying tax and following the industrial or union rules of said business. Once you step out of the confines of carrying out your assigned duty you no longer enjoy immunity.
