So far, below are what we know about the JAMB 2020/2021 exercise.

How to Register for JAMB 2020/2021 examination

The registration procedures for the JAMB 2020/2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are the same as that of last year only that all prospective candidates are now required to enroll for the National Identity Number (NIN).

For the first-timers, below are guidelines on the 2019/2020 JAMB registration;

The first thing you should do to register for JAMB 2020/2021 UTME, is to get your JAMB profile code.

What is JAMB Profile Code?
JAMB Profile code is a unique code issued by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) to aspiring candidates. The code is used to pay for JAMB form and also for other registration logistics.

Every JAMB aspiring candidate is expected to have a personal phone number. It is with the phone number that candidate will be able to create a JAMB profile code.

It is also recommended that candidates use their hand and create the code on their phones following the instructions below;

Step 1 of How to Create JAMB 2021/2021 Profile Code
To create your Jamb Profile code, get your phone and insert your SIM card if it is not yet inserted. Make sure you use your own SIM card and ensure that you have the necessary documents to back it up in case you lose it. The reason for this is that JAMB will continue to use the number for any verification and you may not be able to change it in future. If you use another person's phone number, it means that you will continue to use the person's phone number for all JAMB related applications.

Step 3 of How to Create a JAMB Profile Code
Recharge your phone with at least N50. You will be charged N50 for the message you will send to JAMB. If you don't have up to N50 airtime on your phone, you will not be able to create the code.

Step 3 of How to Create Your JAMB 2021 Profile Code
On the phone that you inserted your SIM card, click on messages and click on compose. Enter 55019 in the phone number section. In the message body, type in your information in the following format ;
Correct Surname FirstName MiddleName. Remember to space each name in the format below;
Ugwu Rose Chinonye. Note that each of the names has a single line space separating them. Be sure that you type your correct name as is written in your official documents.

Step Four of How to Get Jamb Profile Code
Having typed the messages, the next thing you should do is to send the message. Remember you will be sending it to 55019. Click on the "Send Button" and wait for the code. The code will be sent to you in the form of a message. Below is an example of Jamb Profile code message;

Dear UGWU Rose Chinonye, Your Profile code is 0123456789" visit ibass.jamb.gov.ng for your eBrochure.

Note that the above message is a sample JAMB profile code message. Yours will be sent to you when you must have undergone the above process.

Should you make a mistake while sending the code; for example; if you misspelt your name or failed to provide all the necessary information, you can correct it if you have not purchased a JAMB form with the code your generated.

To correct it, simply send

Correct Surname FirstName MiddleName to 55019

. Eg; Correct Ugwu Faith Chinonye Note: use the SIM card you used when you generated the first code to send this. If you use another person's phone number you will change the person's name instead of yours if the person is also a registered candidate.

If you have already gotten your profile code but you cannot remember it again, you can retrieve your profile code. To retrieve it, send UTMEPIN as SMS to 55019 from the sim card you used to create the code. The above method is for UTME candidates. If you are a direct entry candidate and you want to retrieve your JAMB profile code, send DEPIN from the SIM you used to generate the code to 55019.

For help or inquiries, send HELP[/b]to 55019.

To reset your profile password, send your password and email to 55019 from your personal phone number.

See the format below;
[b]124578 ugwu.chinonye@gmail.com ( please, this is just an example; the email address may not be in existence so don't send any message to it)

Once you get your 10 digits Jamb profile code, you can proceed to the bank to pay for your JAMB form.

The JAMB form is sold at almost all Banks in Nigeria. The price ranges from N3500 to N2000.

After you have purchased the form, proceed to any accredited JAcentre center to finalize your registration. Only accredited Jamb CBT centers are allowed to register candidates for the 2020/2021 JAMB UTME.

How to Know An Accredited JAMB CBT Center
Every accredited JAMB CBT center usually has a hall where they conduct JAMB exams. So, if the center you want to register your JAMB UTME is not conducting the exam, it means that they are not accredited by JAMB.

Another way to know the JAMB accredited center is to check the center online. JAMB has published a list of the centers accredited for JAMB 2020/2021 exercise. You can click here to check it.

Documents Needed for JAMB 2020/2021 Registration
This part is very important because you will learn what you are expected to go with to the center where you will do your registration. We have seen several cases where students were asked to go back and get full certificates. To avoid missing any documents, below are what are needed for JAMB 2020/2021 registration

Your O'level results - you will need a copy of either your WAEC or NECO certificate. Note that Cambridge certificate is not accepted.

Your JAMB 2020 e-pin and Profile code
The e-pin is gotten from the bank after you must have paid for the JAMB form. The profile code is the code you generated from your phone. The two codes are needed for JAMB registration.

Money: Northing is free in our country today. Be sure to go with extra cash should they demand any payment from you.

Your Email address and Personal Phone Number: they will need your email address your personal phone number to register you for the 2020/2021 JAMB UTME.

Expert Advice for JAMB 2020/2021 Registration
It is important that you know the course you want to study before proceeding with the JAMB registration. Don't go to the center and start asking them to choose any course for you.

Do careful research on the course you want to study. Know the subject combination for the course. Don't be too desperate to choose any course especially those course considered as inferior. No course in the university is inferior; you must study hard to pass any course you put in the university. There is no course that you will put and you will not read to pass it. Having known, ensure that you have a passion for the course you intended to study.

Remember that this is a 4-6year agreement. If you choose a course you don't like, be ready to face it for good 4-6years.

Details About the Registration for JAMB 2020/2021
JAMB 2020/2021 uses a process known as biodata verification to register candidates. You must be present physically and mentally to undertake the process.

Some students used to ask somebody to go and do the registration for them.

It is important to know that somebody cannot register your JAMB UTME for you.

The CBT registrar will take your thumbprint as well as your passport pictures. These cannot be done for you if you are not present in person.

While the registration is going on, a candidate is required to pay attention to the details being imputed into the computer. Should the CBT register make mistake, be quick to correct him or her.

Important details to pay attention to include your date of birth, names, phone number, email address, subjects combination, institutions, and chosen courses.

Incorrect Email Address?
Some email address is very long and some are short. If you use a long email address, there is a high chance that the registrar may either omit or add a new character to it. In the case where such happens and you were not able to correct it on time before they submit the form, you can still correct it.

You can correct it by creating a new email address that tallies with the wrong spelled email. If the email address has been chosen by another person, then your only option to correct it is to pay the CBT registrar to do it for you.

Is JAMB Mock Examination Compulsory?
No, it is not compulsory.

When you will be registering for JAMB UTME, you will be asked if you would like to take the mock examination. If you said no, you will not be registered for the Mock examination. However, if you said yes, be ready to sit the examination.

Jamb Mock examination is simply a preparatory test for interested candidates. The score you got in it has nothing to do with your real JAMB exam score.

Did You lose Your JAMB Email Password?
In the unlikely event that you lost your JAMB email password, there are few things you can do to recover it.

Please note that the method of recovering it depends on the email client that used.

Generally, most people will either use GMAIL or Yahoo Mail.

Whichever you use, there is a common setting that both GMAIL and Yahoo Mail have.

When you create your GMAIL or Yahoo mail account, you will be asked to choose a password recovering method. Most people do put their phone number. If you put your phone number during the registration, you can easily recover your password through the password recovering option on either GMAIL or Yahoo mail.

When Will I Get My Examination Center and Exam date?

When you first registered for JAMB 2020/2021 UTME, a temporary examination slip will be issued to you.

The exam centre is usually represented with Bleep signs until your reprint the new slip when the JAMB slip reprinting begins.

Hence, once you registered for the exam, wait until the reprinting begins, then go and reprint the slip to see your exam center and real exam date.

When Is Jamb 2020/2021 Registration Starting?
As we earlier said, the registration has not commenced as at the time of writing this article.

The registration date has also not been fixed.

If anybody tells you that the date has been fixed, know it that the person is just giving you a mere prediction and not the actual date.

When is the deadline for Jamb 2020/2021 Registration
The deadline for Jamb 2020/2021 registration has not been fixed.

Please, once the registration begins, endeavor to register on time.

Don't wait until the deadline. If the deadline passes, know it that you may not be able to register again for this year. Although Jamb used to extend the deadline, they only extend it when there is an important reason and not for the sake of candidates.

Can I change My Jamb Institution and Course After Registration?

You can change your JAMB institution and course after registration. However, you can only change it when the examinations have been written. Also, JAMB change of course and institution are not done for free. You will have to pay money for the form. You will also pay the person that will change it for you.

That being said, it is important that you choose the right course and institution when you are doing the registration to avoid making unnecessary expenses.

Can I Use the JAMB Profile Code of Last Year?
If you have written Jamb before, you cannot use the profile code you created during the past registration for the new one.

You will need to create a new profile code. I have explained how to create a profile code and Jamb pin. If you did not read it, scroll up to read it now.

How Can I Create an Email to Register for Jamb 2020/2021?
The two popular email clients are Gmail and Yahoo mail.

I would recommend creating your email using Gmail, because, it is safer and easier to create.

Yahoo mail is also good but based on preference, I will choose Gmail.

To create an email using GMAIL, enter www.gmail.com. If you are using another person's phone or a public computer, open the link using a private browsing mode.

Once you enter www.gmail.com, click on create an account (for myself).

Enter your first name, last name, username, password and confirm your password.

Note that your username should be unique. Most common names have already been chosen by other people. So try adding underscores, dots or hyphen to your username so that you may get a unique name.

Once you are done, click on submit. Enter your personal phone in the second step. Also, remember to add your personal phone number to the password recovering option.

If you want to create using Yahoo mail, simply enter www.yahoo.com. Click on mail to create a new email.

How Much Is the Jamb UTME 2020/2021 Form?

The price for JAMB 2020 UTME form has not been fixed as at the time of writing this article.

However, it is predicted that the price will be in the range of N4000 to N6000.

You will pay for the e-pin and the Jamb novel.

How to Correct Your Name(s) in JAMB UTME
If you used a wrong name or misspelled your name during your registration to JAMB 2020/2021 UTME, you can correct it.

JAMB has made it possible for candidates who used wrong names in the JAMB UTME form to change it. Please note that correction of name in JAMB database is not free. The JAMB Correction of Name forms costs about N4000.

Can I use Awaiting Results to Register for JAMB 2020/2021 UTME
Awaiting results have always been accepted by JAMB.

However, you should ensure that you get the result within the year of your admission into a high institution.

This is because you will be asked for your O level result before you can be fully admitted into any high institution.

Should you fail to provide the O level result after your admission into a high institution, you should be ready to forfeit the admission.

How to Correct Your O Level Results
Sometimes, people make the mistake of inputting wrong grades in their O Level results. This may affect you during documents verification.

However, you should not panic because you can easily change it with a token of N2500 - N5000 depending on where you go to change it.

How to Get NIN for JAMB 2020/2021 UTME Registration
NIN stands for National Identification Number.

Because some candidates engage in the illegal acts of buying multiple jamb forms at a time. The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has decided to make use of National Identification for its 2020/2021 registration.

You can get the NIN from their nearest office in your place.

At the time of writing this article, you can get the NIN only from their office. You will be asked to provide some certificates before you can get it.

We expect that JAMB should devise easy means of getting the National Identification Number because if everybody should be going to their office, it will be difficult to get it.

How to Correct Your Name in Jamb

Some people make this rare mistake of putting a wrong gender in JAMB UTME profile. If you put a wrong gender in your JAMB profile, it may affect you in the future.

If you have made the mistake already, you can still correct it. But if you have not, be careful not make the mistake because changing it also attracts some fees.

To correct your JAMB profile gender, go to any nearby Cybercafe and ask them to change it for you. You will need to pay for it so try to get with some money.
