From what is going on in our military sphere now, do you think that Boko Haram will be defeated soon. I remember when GEJ said that Boko Haram were in Nigeria Army, police Air force etc so called for his head, but today it is glaring to us that it's raw and bitter truth but because our brothers from the North hate him with passion and for their born to rule mentality, they did not see his statement as anything. Expect more revelations soon

Civil law will decide that after the military court martial.

Some court martials do result in sentences beyond dishonourable discharge.

A court martial can sentence a serving soldier a jail sentence which will be served in a military stockade.
These usually involve gross insubordination or AWOL. Since these offences are not criminal under the Nigerian constitution.

Another example of sentences that can be handed by a court martial is death penalty for mutiny which can be appealed at the Supreme Court.

In this particular case, the Soldiers involved will undergo court martial for parallel criminal activity and be handed over to the police for persecution.

Not true.

Bulk of executed military personnel have been from the NCO cadre over their involvement in a coup.

An NCO in the Nigerian Army is by far the worst job ever!

You disobey an officer going for a coup and when he succeeds he comes for your neck, if you do and the coup flops, they arraign you with the officer and have you executed.

Hmmmm, I thought the soldiers were only following orders It's only the captain that should face court martial

They are all facing the Court Martial and will be punished accordingly, if found guilty. There's something a lot of people including soldiers do not know. It is not all orders a soldier obeys, only legitimate ones. If actually the captain gave such an order, it's an illegitimate one and should be disregarded.

Dismissal means they are cleared to be prosecuted in civil courts. Their dismissal is not the end but the beginning of their ordeal.

After crime, prosecution. After prosecution comes judgement. After judgements comes penalty after penalty, is facing the reality of crime you put upon your self.
Say no to crime.

That is because military law is often disregarded. These things are clearly stated in military law and all soldiers both enlisted and officers are schooled in such laws during recruitment and training. What must happen now that the government insists on putting soldiers on the streets and in conflict with the civil law enforcement system is that soldiers, units amd commands must regularly get updated in military law particularly those that interface with civil authorities and the civilian populace in general.

One is short of words in this circumstance. There was loss of lives. This loss of lives came about by the strict trainings of a military officer to obey commands from their commander. If a solider has to chose which order to obey and which not, then certainly orders from commanders may not be obeyed triggering chaos.
We have laws and lawyers to straighten this out. On the other hand, lives of patriotic police officers were wasted by orders that were obeyed. Sincere investigations will tell us whether these orders were carried out without an ulterior motives.
May the lives of these patriotic police officers rest in perfect peace.

The soldiers are also culpable reason been that they are all big fools, after taking the order of the captain and attacking the policemen, for the fact that one of d police officer shot was still alive and soldiers admitted in the video that they showed ID CARD, common sense should have let them know that they shouldn't have further killed that man, so my brother Captain gave order but after order common sense was required but they failed.
