In Nigeria,most universities built on large hectares of land have much grasses and bushes than the students themselves.its no wonder wild animals sometimes visit students eg civet,snakes.
wrong location of libraries has made students accessibility a rigorous task in terms of emergency and transportation.
other criminal and antisocial vices are perpetrated in the bushes as slums and ghettos from perenial flooding take over unused land spaces andhamper movement and accomodation

students have to deal with.whereas every university suppose to have at least 22 halls of residence or hostels as per the number of faculty/department,its a shame it doesnt exist at all.students are not near their lecture halls or libraries and they spend hours wasting energy to walk to lectures and back.
And the scholars are imposed with the stupidity of believing that they must be resillient in the face of such challenges created by the nonsense called universities
overcrowding became the norm right from the year 2000 when universities commercialized Admission process.since then accomodation in school tripled irregularly and education lost its priority.Admission lost its hardwork and merit status and it became connection and money status.
universities became a reflection of national disgrace and economic woes.i tell u that it is now chronic that schools are after making money than the future of students,while students who graduate are interested in making money than being professional in their work

All these dwindling fortunes have resulted into convocation of graduates who have no skills to meet with current needs of the society.
it is no wonder little energy is put in place by the school mangement in training students to meet up with the requisite demands and modern needs of the 21st century society
its not being bookish that matters,but being active and carrying out tasks and responsibilities that meet emerging and immediate modern trending needs of the society that universities need to imbibe into the minds and intellect of their products.

I'm sorry but have you been to funaab? I might not have seen other schools but I can vouch for funaab anywhere. The colleges,departments,library, chapels,mosques etc are existent and in great condition. the large lawn always left manicured.I could go on.

The government pays little or no efforts to develop The epileptic state of our educational sector..atines schooling in nigeria is a Herculean task..shame on The government

Inasmuch as i would agree to what you write about our school system mr op but the large bunk of this responsibility falls on the students too, this is the only country that students dnt give regards to school structures damaging and spoiling things with no caution at sight, go and check the number of electric stoves each school student has some will even plug and off their brain reason because its not really their fathers property, hoe many times has our university hostel set on fire though to student i dont care attitude.
My assertion is no matter how ill our university strutures is we should as a student have a sense of responsibility regather what ever struture that has been put in place
