Even if the sentence is heavier. It won't stop anything. Many are forced into it because of hunger & zero alternative for employment. Not everyone is creative enough or have a little support to startup something on their own. I would rather death sentence is given to all the past & present political leaders for subjecting the country to this level. Mind you, offline fraud is also high. It is the fall out of moral assassination.

Why always graduates

Because our educational system is not functional; our tertiary institutions like universities and polytechnics are just potential recruiters of unemployable youths and yahoo-yahoo corps. At the end of university and polytechnic programmes, less than 15% are skillful and job ready, others are potential jobless individual after NYSC. Many youths are not ready to develop themselves also even though institutions teach theory, many of the students prefer to waste their school years rapping, personate about entertainment just for fun only, watching movies series by series, wasting their useful time on irrelevant discussion about football, general sport or debating about Messi and Ronado, who never remember their fans exist somewhere, excessive computer game playing and so on. At the end of 4yrs course, more than 3yrs of their school time are wasted on irrelevant issues only to graduate without relevant skill that will put food on their tables. Some of them end up in crime out of frustration about life after NYSC when reality of life is down on them especially those that are not trained in the fear of God from family background. At this stage, Ronado and Messi, they wasted so much of their school useful time debating will never asked for their accounts to get their shares of money for being fans. Until our education system is restructured by ensuring 85% of our lecturers are lay-off, system of recruiting lecturers is re-modeled, parents are made accountable for their children good conduct and mis-conduct in public domains and entertainment/betting industry is regulated, we will continue to breed touts, yahoo-yahoo, purposeless graduates and unskillful individual from our tertiary institutions even if government commit 90% of our budget on education revival.
