Two Shot Dead by Mobile Policemen in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The incident took place immediately after the result of the APC Primary Election was announced, some youths started throwing stones at the Security agents, while they in turn retaliated by shooting live ammunition at the youth.

Information reaching us now that two among the six whom were shot are dead, while the remaining four are receiving treatment at the general hospital kuta. Watch the video below,

The thing is, assault and attacking the police is a crime. And the Police have every right to defend themselves. A stone is a lethal weapon that can kill, or cause severe injury.

1.Rubber bullets can cause severe injury...which may lead to death.

2.The Nigeria Police has a budget of less than a trillion naira. The budget for the New York Police is five times that.

The policemen may not even have access to rubber bullet. I'm not justifying the killing but a starved policeman is like a hungry Lion, do away with them I beg. RIP to the dead.

2.A stone can cause injuries that can lead to death(and note that the cops deployed here very likely don't have adequate helmets).

3.Assaulting a police officer is illegal under the law.

Swallow this your grammar. You don't invite fire and expect to get water. Rocks can result in fatal injuries if properly aimed at a target. You don't assault security agents on duty call. I am sure you wanted the security agents to have left the place for the youths for overrun. No, it does not make sense.

I admit that we have a security force that seriously needs reforms. But let us apportion blames where they belong. In this case, the youths goofed. The officers may have taken an extreme measure, however, it falls within self-defence. Unfortunately sometimes, self-defence can be fatal to the attacker.
