greatest players= Pele, Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo 9

Messi is not in their class
Ronaldinho would be even mentioned ahead of him

.... Messi fans need to stop deluding themselves and trying to force their irrelevant opinion down people's throat

I suppose you put Pele ahead because he won 3 world cups when 8 countries participated?

Maradonna Ronaldo Da Lima..are the only 2 you can compare to Lionel Messi..But if you do not agree with me. Good!

You forgot to add that he was their top scorer and released the defence splitting pass that Buruchaga strolled to the goal to slot in.Typical millennial football analyst .How many goals did Messi score in 2014 final against Germany? Let this stick in Maradona has more goals in world cup matches than Messi has despite playing fewer number of matches.Keep looking for players that will make Messi better to win a world cup.

He is still living on the glory of 1986 World cup where his teammates scored all the 3 goals in the final!!!

Zizou, another world cup winner has achieved far more as a coach!!!

Griezmann is a World Cup winner too but he will never be hyped like that because football is more demanding now than being a "one tournament wonder"!!!

Defence splitting pass?? Or Buruchaga fine finish!
What about Valdano, and Brown goals??
Maradona was the highest goal scorer of the team but final is the most important match of a tournament.
if he had poor teammates that can't score a one on one chance, he would have suffered defeat like he did in 1990 World cup final!!!

Mind you that was 33 years ago...

Deschamp that won the World cup 12 years after Maradona, has also won the World cup as a Coach!!

Maradona is still living on the glory of his days as a player, instead of improving himself as a coach!..

Zizou is far better than him!!!!

Talent wise there are players not among the greatest that shiits on Messi's talent

Dont be shifty, what has brought Zidane into this line of argument now.It is an obvious fact that Maradona is a charlatan when it comes to coaching. Most teams engage him for just the short term to draw attention to their team or using his cult image to galvanise their players as Gimnasia are trying to do to stay up the league.
Back to the crux,if you had been privileged to watch that final match live and not on YouTube and the context of a game which Argentina were two goals up and Germany levelled up and gunning to win the match. For Maradona to come up with a pass that rendered all of the defense line useless from the centre of the pitch and Buruchagga racing on clear to goal.A simple finish expected at that level.FYI the pass was the highlight reel of that world cup final not the goal scorers.
Back to you still searching for players for Messi to achieve world cup greatness.I will walk you through Maradona world cup career.Forget about 1982 finals where he was practically kicked out by the Italians eventual winners in second round,to 1986 where he took a team which had almost half of it being washed out(declining) to the glory.(France and Brazil had the best teams going onto that finals). What about the sub standard 1990 team to the finals. That team could not make 10 straight passes going forward. But against Brazil the favourite in second round,Maradona took the entire Brazil defence(favourite again) on a mazy run and laid the ball on plate for Cannigia to slam in extra time. That is the stuff of Legend. Now let us talk about 1994 team brimming with stars like Batigoal,Roberto Sensi, Redondo,Cannigia, the goalie with the squint Goicochea etc. They were coming on on the back of 1993 Copa America win and hot favourites with a declining Maradona this time.Do you recall this team did not win a single game again after Maradona got banned for failing drug test after the match against Nigeria and which we all know he decided the game with two moments of magic and ingenuity.
Apparently you have football punditry skills, but don't be a snowflake type that only live for the moment.I will reiterate to you that Messi can never be mentioned as the greatest footballer of all times which you always tout except he wins the world cup. This generation is lucky to be seeing live matches and media hype.Even with the famous dribbling skills you all hype,he doesnt even come close to Garincha or Johan Cruyff.

Irrelevant questions
Those who know me know my football credentials are not in doubt
Internet in not where u prove ur achievements

The least skillful among those greats is Pele
Even at that pre injury Pele was extremely skillful
He latter just decided to focus on Goals (Cr7 did similar too)
Only world cup he missed due to injury Brazil didn't win it (1960)
That's to tell u how great the man is

Skill wise Messi cannot touch the charisma of Maradona, the grace and elegance of Zidane or the devastating ability of Ronaldo 9

Messi is in the lower tier of greats ie: Cruff, Ronaldinho, di Stefano, Bekembeur etc

Who ever said what is their business
Facts on ground are there and can't be changed

Zizou, Deschamp and Beckernbauer.. . All won the World cup as players and are far ahead of Maradona as a Coach!!!

Maradona should stop living on the glory of 1986 World cup final when his teammates scored 3 goals that won them the TROPHY!!!
He should focus on his career as a Coach!!!
Re: Diego Maradona In Tears As Thousands Of Fans Welcome Him As New Coach (Photos) by GEEBITE: 8:20am On Sep 11, 2019
Obviously you didn't read my riposte as my second sentence sums up Maradona as a coach. Why did you omit Zagalo or isn't he the only one to have won the world cup as a player and coach twice.
Always stay in the course of an argument.I am debating Maradona and Messi with you as legends of the game not Maradona as a coach.Did Pele ever coach a team, yet his footballing records are unmatched by any player till date. What gave you the impression that Messi with weak communication skill will be a great coach. If it doesnt turn out well for him as a coach will that diminish his monumental achievements as a player .
Always debate less with emotions,or why all the exclamation and capitalisation of words.

However this quote is laughable and has diminished my opinion of you as a pundit "Maradona should stop living on the glory of 1986 World cup final when his teammates scored 3 goals that won them the TROPHY!!!'' This the height of being jejune

If Pele is playing today he would nt even make top 10. Pele could nt have been better than Zlatan.. The reason why I am still replying is because you said you play football. Ronaldo Da Lima Zizou Maradonna MESSI are all ahead of him as far as football is concerned. Stop comparing someone who won the world cup when 8 or 12 countries participated, when keepers used to catch back passes with their hands with someone who played WC final with 32 countries participating. Maradonna is far far ahead of Pele. Ronaldo da Lima is god of football zizou was magic but there has never been anyone like Messi.. Next you will tell me that this Portuguese striker that scores hat trick against san marino and faroe island is one of the greatest.
