What is Screen Overlay?

Screen Overlay is an advanced feature introduced in Android Marshmallow version that enables any app to appear on the top of other applications. Do you’ve any screen overlay apps like Facebook Messenger, Clean Master, Mobizen, ES File Explorer, Twilight drawing over screen. Apps like Facebook Messenger, Clean Master, and Mobizen has floating button on the Android screen that causes Screen Overlay Detected error. Also ES File Explorer has a hidden floating button on the bottom of the screen that causes Screen Overlay Detected error on your Android device.

Screen overlay detected error occurs, when newly installed app ask you granting permission on your Android device. When you grant permission to new app, a pop up message appears on your Android device that says “Screen overlay detected, To change this permission setting, you first have to turn off the screen overlay from Settings > Apps“.
