I'm sure everybody remember how Sven Bender abi Lars Bender ran from his own box whilst Obiorah was chasing him puffing and wheezing, and ran through to knock Naija out of Egypt 2009. Regardless, Obiorah was by far Naija best player in that tournament, and the most exciting Nigerian since Mikel. Tbh, Bale's performance vs Maicon did not come as much of a suprise to me(several wingers in Serie A this season have gotten the upperhand). Maicon is an excellent attacking full back  but a solid defensive full back(not a great one). In the Inter vs Udinese match last season, Alexis Sanchez did exactly what Bale did to him tonight(ran him ragged), mind you that was against a peak form Maicon, not the off form/Declining Maicon(as his performances in Serie A this season has clearly shown)we are currently witnessing. That being said, Gareth Bale is a truly oustanding winger and Maicon is not the first and certainly would not be the last to have his Bu, t.t hole ripped apart by Bale.

True,but you have to realise that Inter as Italian champs have generally fared poorly against English opposition over time.Besides,Chelsea at the time were not Champions.When they met United in 2009 as EPL champs,they hardly mustered a shot at goal.I wouldn't call this a one-off,especially if you think that Spurs played for 80 mins with 10 men at the San Siro and lost by only one goal.Spurs are the better of the two sides over the two encounters.
But wait,isn't Maicon supposed to be the best right back in the world?Some folks will come and tell us how wack the EPL is when Rafael da Silva held his own against this Bale 3 days earlier.
