Wow!!! Ileke, just for posting these attributes alone, GOD has earmarked immense rewards for you. You may not kow but you have also listed some of what Jews and Muslims call names or attributes of GOD. They have high potency for cosmogenic emanations. may God bless you. Some of them are also used as family orikis as well, like the one with Lion of Judah and the one with Ajanaku. These are families with totems. Attributes like the following give the dual ad polarized aspect. Alewilese, (He that can Speak and Act) This attribute below confers the power of infinity if you drop the O. It becomes a continuum. Oyigiyigi Another infiity below to demonstrate the unending reach and presence of GOD:
Arabaribi aribiraba
In ordinary usage it makes no difference whether you spell it "Kabiyesi" or "Kabiyeesi", but in using attributes to supplicate GOD, there is a difference between the two spellings. A double consonant or vowel is used to merge the finite with the ifinite or mortal to the immortal. There is a God in us mortals, hence to manifest the God within we merge the essence of the particular attribute using the cosmogenical essence of duality or double as channell of transmission for our supplications. . . Example: Kabiyesi Oba anu, wa siju anu wo mi. Mighty GOD of mercy, grant mercy upon me. [here I need help - vulnerable] Kabiyeesi Oba anu, si anu okan mi. Mighty GOD of mercy, unveil mercy in my heart. [here I am the help - powerful] |

Does Oluwa actually mean Lord? I ask because lords do not sit on thrones. Why not Our Benefactor or Our Provider? |
Re: Yoruba Names/Oriki For God by folanaira: 4:55am On Jan 20, 2012 |
Why would you think there isn't a throne? A lot of what you see on earth are only our very limited attempt at replicating what is above. Throne, crown, knights, castle etc. |
Re: Yoruba Names/Oriki For God by amor4ce(m): 10:22pm On Jan 20, 2012 |
I know that kings sit on thrones but I have not come across a lord sitting on thrones. |
